  • Publication number: 20020011901
Abstract: The multiple fractional division frequency synthesizer comprises a frequency generator, a voltage-controlled oscillator, a programmable variable N-divider, a phase comparator, an integration and filter circuit, a time window generator, a weighted current source, a phase accumulator, a charge-pump circuit comprising several transistors. The current source is connected to the charge-pump circuit so as to directly switch the currents over to the emitter of one or more transistors of the charge-pump circuit.

  • Patent number: 5294463
Abstract: This invention concerns new molecules with active, non-linear optical properties and which can be thermally reticulated (more precisely, these molecules include terminal functions which can be reticulated, attached to either side of the groups active in non-linear optics, which can be oriented under an electrical field). When reticulated and oriented under an electrical field, these materials are particularly stable and can be employed for industrial applications, using non-linear optics (electrooptical modulators, frequency doublers, etc.).

  • Patent number: 5084708
Abstract: This antenna system has a plurality of elementary antennas configured into an array, wherein there is a reception (or transmission) channel associated with each antenna or sub-array of antennas, said reception channel having, in series:an active reception module, delay means capable of selectively introducing a pure delay of propagation of the signal picked up by the elementary antenna so as to produce a gradation of delays for the different respective elementary antennas, said gradation of delays enabling the definition of a desired pointing in the direction of the wave to be received with respect to the orientation proper to the array;and an analog/digital converter receiving, at input, the analog signal received, to deliver, at output, a corresponding digitized signal to a beam forming computer.

  • Patent number: 5077750
Abstract: Disclosed is a power laser in which several laser diodes emit pump beams towards amplifier media. The beams coming from these amplifier media are combined by an optical system to give a common beam transmitted to an output mirror. The mirror and a reflecting face of each amplifier forms an optical cavity.

  • Patent number: 4812890
Abstract: A method of fabricating bipolar intergratable transistors includes a recrystallization step. A monocrystalline epitaxial layer is deposited upon a highly doped substrate and impurities are introduced into a portion of the epitaxial layer to form a first transistor region. A polysilicon layer is deposited upon the surface and a portion of the polycrystalline layer is recrystallized wherein the first transistor region serves as a seed. Impurities are introduced into the recrystallized portion to form a base. An additional polysilicon layer is deposited over the substrate and a portion is recrystallized wherein the base serves as a seed. A second transistor region is formed in the recrystallized portion of the additional polysilicon layer.

  • Patent number: 4539501
Abstract: An epitaxial structure in which a constraint imposed by forced epitaxy causes an increase in the piezoelectric effect of a group of layers. The structure which provides this effect utilizes a semi-insulating substrate made from a first material on which is deposited by forced epitaxy a layer of a second material, the two materials are in crystalline mesh parameter disharmony, which creates in said layer a constraint increasing its piezoelectricity. On the constrained layer are deposited two groups of alternated "deforming" and "deformed" layers of the two materials. The thickness of the structure is sufficient to allow propagation of the surface waves. The advantage of this structure is that it allows two transducers such as transistors to be integrated on or at the side of this structure.

  • Patent number: 4377760
Abstract: An analog device for reading a quantity of electric charge, for example, in a transversal charge transfer filter. The device includes a capacitor and two MOS transistors which are connected in series to the point in the filter where the charge is to be read. The capacitor is connected to the common point of the two transistors which are controlled in phase opposition to insure charging of the capacitor. The capacitor maintains a potential at the charge reading point constant. Any variation in the quantity of charge under an electrode is converted into a variation of potential at the common point and this forms the read signal which is detected by means of a third MOS transistor.

  • Patent number: 4342821
Abstract: For improving the contrast of information displayed on the screen, there is placed in front of this latter a filter comprising a matrix of channels pierced in a photosensitive glass plate. The pierced plate is covered over the whole of its surface with a blackened deposit so as to reduce to the maximum its coefficient of reflection. Thus filters can be formed readily on request, according to the direction of observation in particular, with a good coefficient of transmission and improved contrast.
