  • Patent number: 11146466
Abstract: In today's network management world, there are various solutions that collect data and presume to identify events impacting the QoE of the end-users. However, such solutions usually do not try to address the question of whether the end-users are actually impacted. These solutions usually look at certain types of known problems and try to detect if that problem exists in the end-user's network, and from that they conclude that the end-user might be impacted. The method according to an embodiment of the invention enables to proactively identify that an end-user is actually experiencing an event impacting the QoE in his home network. The proposed solution enables the detection of event affecting an end-user's network, regardless of the type of the network and without looking for specific issues. This knowledge may be a valuable asset of an Internet Service Provider which may fix issues quicker or mitigate end-users' dissatisfaction.

  • Patent number: 11127376
Abstract: A method for rendering a current image on a head-mounted display is provided. The current image has been acquired by a camera mounted on a moving object. First, the capturing roll angle is obtained. It is compared to the viewing roll angle that is the current roll angle of the head of a user of the head-mounted display. If the difference between the capturing roll angle and the current viewing roll angle is lower than a determined threshold, a detection flag is activated. The current image is then rotated by an angle determined according to the capturing roll angle, the current viewing roll angle and of the detection flag. The current rotated image is rendered.

  • Patent number: 10713760
Abstract: A virtual reality apparatus includes a virtual reality display screen. Further, the virtual reality apparatus includes an eye tracking system that tracks a gaze direction of one or more eyes of a user to determine an object of focus in a virtual reality display. In addition, the virtual reality apparatus includes a processor. The virtual reality apparatus also includes a memory having a set of instructions that when executed by the processor causes the virtual reality apparatus to estimate one or more pupil dimensions of the one or more eyes based upon a luminance of virtual reality imagery displayed by the virtual reality display. The virtual reality apparatus is further caused to determine a focal plane based upon the estimated one or more pupil dimensions.

  • Patent number: 10607404
Abstract: The present invention relates to a glossy part of radiation is estimated coming from a surface illuminated by area light source(s) having source surface(s) (A) bounded by edge curves, by determining integrand function(s) representative of that glossy part. The latter corresponding to an integration of the integrand function along the edge curves. In this respect, the integrand function(s) is/are approximated by means of peak-shape function(s) having a known antiderivative over the edge curves, and the glossy part is computed from analytical expressions associated with integrations of the peak-shape function(s) along the edge curves. Such invention can offer efficient and accurate computation for specular part of reflection as well as glossy transmission, and is notably relevant to real-time rendering.

  • Patent number: 10514832
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed towards having a user interface that displays a number of cards or windows. A user can implement a command where the user interface will automatically change the position of the displayed cards to show regions of interest which are the parts of the cards that a user may have interested in. The user interest can be determined in accordance with user preference information. Optionally, cards which do not have regions of interest are removed from a display area and such cards are replaced with new cards that do have regions of interest.

  • Patent number: 10452136
Abstract: This invention aims to support the reader in the task of reading text on a display device (21). In each case an area in the text to which the gaze is directed (view areas/focus area of the eyes) is highlighted, respectively. For this purpose the gaze direction is determined (101 to 108) in the reading device (21) and the highlighted region is controlled with gaze direction control (109). When a whole sentence is highlighted, the highlighting is stopped and starts anew with the beginning of the next sentence being read. The highlighted area moves with this technique with the view. The reader's eye/brain is thus released from the complicated task of line tracking and can better concentrate on word recognition.

  • Publication number: 20190162978
Abstract: There are several types of plenoptic devices having their proprietary file format. At present there is no standard supporting the acquisition and transmission of multidimensional information for an exhaustive over-view of the different parameters upon which a light-field depends. As such acquired light-field data for different cameras have a diversity of formats. The notion of pixel beam, which represents a volume occupied by a set of rays of light in an object space of an optical system of a camera is thus introduced. The method according to the invention enables to provide data representative of a collection of pixel beams describing a first optical system that is agnostic since these data are obtained by imaging the collection of pixel beams through a second optical system. Such data representative of a collection of pixel beams enable the generation of parametrized output images from which post-processing.

  • Publication number: 20190110109
Abstract: The present principles generally relate to methods, systems and apparatus for electronic program listing processing and/or display (290). In particular, the present principles relate to providing an electronic program listing (295) or the like which is capable of indicating to viewers programs with high dynamic range (HDR) content differently than programs with non-high dynamic range content. In one exemplary embodiment, one or more program representations of an electronic program listing (295) representing one or more programs available in HDR format are displayed with higher brightness or luminance level than if the programs are available in non-HDR format. This way, a viewer is able to recognize easily and quickly which programs are HDR capable and which are not, just by glancing at the electronic program listing (295).

  • Patent number: 10229207
Abstract: A solution for managing applications in a network is proposed. A distributed application management system receives information about a first application installed on a first device in the network and determines whether a second application is required or recommended for the first device or for a second device in the network or whether a further device is required or recommended for the network based on the received information.
