    Abstract: For bleaching cellulose pulp or a fraction thereof, e.g. reject pulp, the cellulose pulp or fraction, having a concentration of 0.5-10%, preferably 3-6%, is introduced into a screw press comprising at least a first (47) and a second (48) dewatering zone, is dewatered in the first zone to a concentration of 20-40%, whereupon a liquor of bleach chemicals is introduced centrally into the pulp which, during continued treatment, is dewatered in the second zone to a discharge pulp concentration of 15-50, preferably 15-30%, the liquid pressed out of the second zone, together with fresh bleach chemicals, being returned to the pulp in the screw press as liquor of bleach chemicals.

    Abstract: An adjustable roller bearing for lateral guidance of travelling webs, e.g. a paper wire, comprises a bearing casing that is slidably mounted in a bearing foundation by the aid of members projecting diametrically from the bearing casing and bearing foundation and being in engagement with each other as well as encased by in hydraulic or pneumatic bellows which act to displace the bearing casing. The projecting members are provided with cooperating guide grooves and rollers respectively. The guide grooves are diametrically outside the contact faces of their associated roller, and have faces which in cross section follow a circular curve having the roller center as its center. Between each of these faces and the adjacent roller contact face there is a lining one end of which is adapted to the circular shape, whereas the other side, facing the roller contact face, is planar and forms a contact face for the corresponding roller.

    Abstract: Apparatus for thickening, or de-watering, and refining fibre-pulpsuspensions include a screw-press thickener (1) and a refiner (2). In order to prevent air from entering the pulp and to provide a simpler arrangement, the outfeed end of the screw-press thickener (1) is connected directly to the infeed end of the refiner (2), therewith also to serve as an infeed screw to the refiner (2). In this respect the thickener (1) has a screening jacket (5) which embraces the screw (6). The screening jacket has at least one section which converges in the pulp feed direction, to achieve in the screw-press (1) a press effect required for de-watering the pulp while at the same time achieving the requisite reduction in diameter of the screening jacket (5) for connection to the refiner (2).

The roll on the frame can be heated and has a drive motor for rotary movement of the roll about its longitudinal axis.

    Abstract: A cut squirt wherein a nozzle for a jet of cutting liquid is movably supported on a boom extending transversely of the direction of advancement for a web of paper and is connected to a supply hose for cutting liquid which is coiled in one layer on a driven drum and is connected at the drum to a feed conduit for said liquid, whereby the nozzle is driven back and forth along the boom when the hose is uncoiled from or coiled onto the drum. The drum end of the hose is attached to a carrier which rotates together with the drum and has cam engagement with a fixed guide member such that the carrier is displaced one hose width in the axial direction of the drum for each revolution of the drum, and in that a flexible, liquid-conduit connection is arranged between the drum end of the hose and the cutting liquid feed conduit to the drum.

    Abstract: By pumping a liquid with a submerged rotary pump the distance from the submerged pump to the top of the riser pipe can be substantial and the liquid column left in the riser pipe from the pump constitutes a not insignificant residue. When the liquid level in the tank has sunk to the pump, the liquid in the riser pipe is caused to pass down into the pump and into and up through a relatively narrow pipe which leads from the pump housing at the pressure side of the pump impeller, the rotary impeller acting as check valve for the liquid.
