  • Patent number: 4238089
Abstract: An aiming and guiding device for remote controlled, jet propelled projectiles. The device is arranged on an armor plating. The aiming portion of the device comprises a launching stand, and a guiding portion, which is azimuthally pivotally mounted in the armor plating, has an optical sight for picking up and tracking the target, as well as a position-finding apparatus which serves for the remote control of the projectile in the direction of the target and is fixedly assembled with the optical sight. Both of these parts of the guiding portion are accommodated in a single housing. The housing has an entry window for the optical axes of the sight and position-finding apparatus, which axes are oriented parallel to one another, as well as a common head mirror. After the projectile has been launched, the housing is movable independent of the launching stand. The head housing is arranged on the azimuthally pivotal support housing during the initial target approach of the projectile.

  • Patent number: 4176966
Abstract: A mixing apparatus for continuously preparing pulverous to granular thermoplastic synthetic material. The mixing apparatus includes a tubular, rotatably mounted horizontal container, on the inner surface of which mixing instruments or tools are attached. An inlet and outlet for the material to be mixed are respectively located near the ends of the container. A shaft is rotatably arranged about the axis of the container and extends at least over the entire length of the container. Mixing instruments are likewise attached to the shaft. The mixing instruments, in the region between the inlet and outlet, comprise a plurality of sections of single or multi-threaded worms which extend in the radial direction from the shaft to the inner surface of the container. These sections are adjacent to and spaced from one another, and are alternately mounted to the shaft and to the inner surface of the container.

  • Patent number: 4167143
Abstract: A rail vehicle having a driving bogie frame and a vehicle frame, in which these frames are interconnected by means of supporting springs and at least one of the end faces of said frames are interconnected by air springs. The air springs communicate with a source of compressed air through a conduit system having two branch lines respectively connected to the interior of the air springs while adjustable pressure control valves are respectively arranged in these branch lines. The two branch lines are interconnected by a conduit having an adjustable throttle valve interposed therein. Depending on the respective driving direction of the vehicle by adjusting the valves in the branch lines a differential pressure is established between the air pressures in the air springs connected to the branch lines so that the respective end of the bogie frame is pulled up or pressed down so that the wheel set relief is compensated for.

  • Patent number: 4165057
Abstract: A method of improving the guiding of reaction driven flying bodies for ground-to-ground utilization and a device for practicing the method in which the distance between a target point and a launching point is determined, as by observation, and a flying body such as a rocket is launched from the launching point while the flight thereof is controlled in conformity with the position of the flying body which latter is determined by detecting radiation given off by the reaction drive of the body. The path of the flying body is controlled so that, upon launching the body from the launching point, the path of the body diverges upwardly from a line joining the launching point and target point and then converges with the line and then follows the line to the target point.

  • Patent number: 4164154
Abstract: A transmission for a two-worm press having counter running worms in a worm housing, which includes: a transmission housing, an additional housing connected to the transmission housing and detachably connectable to the worm housing, a first and second transmission output shaft respectively having different length and being supported by axial bearings and drivingly connectable to the worms by means of splined coupling sleeves. The first one of the two transmission output shafts has its free end designed for positive torque transmision and extends into a correspondingly designed hub-shaped end of an additional output shaft forming part of a step-down transmission and being arranged in the transmission housing. The two transmission output shafts are supported by radial bearings spaced from each other and from the additional output shaft. Each of the two transmission output shafts has a gear keyed thereto between the radial bearings while the two gears are in mesh with each other.

  • Patent number: 4144775
Abstract: A transmission for a two-worm press with two counter-running worms, which includes two transmission output shafts respectively connectable to the two counter-running worms, first gears laterally offset relative to each other. These first gears are drivingly interconnected by second gears forming intermediate gears. The transmission also includes a bearing housing detachably connected to a transmission housing which houses axial bearings for the transmission output shafts and also houses the bearings for the intermediate gears. The bearing housing is connected to the worm housing of the two-worm press by means of the rods extending through the transmission housing. One of the transmission output shafts is firmly connected to a first extension shaft so that the latter is rotatable with said one transmission shaft.

  • Patent number: 4114512
Abstract: A triaxially stabilized armored turret for light weapons, and in particular automatic weapons, wherein the cardanic suspension point of the turret is located vertically between the bore axis of the horizontally aligned weapon and the roof of the turret well at a height of 30-70 percent of the vertical distance therebetween whereby the height of the turret may be kept relatively low while still providing a relatively large opening at the bottom. The weapon is preferably mounted within the turret so that it can be elevated, independent of the movement of the turret, about a separate elevation axis, which, when seen in the firing direction, lies in a vertical plane which is in front of the cardanic suspension point at a horizontal distance such that the recoil moment of the weapon at both its highest and lowest elevations is approximately the same.

  • Patent number: 4113279
Abstract: A hydropneumatic spring element, especially for use in connection with land vehicles such as armored vehicles, especially with a track laying mechanism, in which the wheel force is conveyed to a hydraulic liquid column through the intervention of a wheel rocker and a crank drive and a hydraulic piston, and is supported by a resilient gas volume. All hydropneumatic structural elements of the spring elements are surrounded by a common cooling jacket and are in this way liquid cooled. The cooling fluid flows in the following sequence by the cushioning valve carrier, the hydraulic work cylinder, and the hydraulic storage container.

  • Patent number: 4108045
Abstract: A cardanically suspended movable turret having a tubular weapon mounted therein so that the bore axis of the barrel of the weapon intersects the vertical rotational axis of the turret and lies in between the elevation axis of the turret suspension and the center of gravity of the turret. By moving the bore axis closer to the center of gravity in this manner, the torque exerted on the turret during firing as a result of the recoil force is reduced.
