Abstract: A blow-off valve for a hydraulic dashpot comprising a fluid charged cylinder (1) and a piston (3) that travels back and forth therein on the end of a piston rod. The piston partitions the cylinder into two compartments (6 & 7) and is provided with breaches (4) and shock-absorbing valves. The piston rod (2) or an extension (8) thereof is hollow and accommodates operating components (13). The object is a valve that can be accommodated along with the hydraulic lines that serve it outside the piston rod or an extension thereof. The outer surface of the piston rod is accordingly provided with at least one axial inwardly undulating groove (14) at least as long as the piston, including its fastenings and operating components, is high. Alternatively, the bore that extends through the piston rod or its extension and its fastenings and operating components is provided with a similar radially outward groove that can be closed off at the compression end by a spring-loaded valve.

Abstract: A motion nut for a lifting device, especially a car jack, in which a basic body has an internal thread and a threaded spindle is seated in the internal thread. The basic body together with the internal thread is a single unit component formed of at least two separate material components of different materials. The two separate material components form an internal thread region part and an external part, so that properties of the internal thread region is selectable different from properties of the external part. The properties of the thread being selectable for reduced friction and the properties of the external part being selectable for increased strength and stiffness.
Abstract: A pneumatic-spring wheel-suspension leg for motor vehicles. The leg comprises a bellows (1) that can be rolled up over a jacket (3) and accommodates a pneumatics chamber (9), a hydraulic dashpot inside the bellows or jacket, and a piston rod (5) that travels into and out of the dashpot and is attached axially and resiliently directly or indirectly at one end to the vehicle's chassis. The object is to relieve the dashpot of difficult attenuation tasks when a hard wheel suspension is necessary. The leg accordingly includes another pneumatics chamber (10) and the communication between the two pneumatics chambers can be partly or entirely blocked by a valve.
Abstract: A seal for hydraulically sealing a piston rod that travels axially into and out of a housing, preferably in a hydraulic dashpot. The seal comprises a preferably resilient-plastic sealing component (5). The sealing component is provided with one or more sharp ridges (10, 11, & 12) that rest against the piston rod, is tensioned across an elastomeric component (8), and is radially and axially secured along with the latter in a seal holder (2). The sealing component has an axial cylindrical wall (6) and a radial annular flange (7). The wall rests snug against the piston rod. The elastomeric component is annular and is provided with an inner surface (9) that tapers in toward the center of the housing and that the wall rests against. The outer surface of the elastomeric component is accommodated subject to radial tension in a setback (13) in the seal holder.
Abstract: A resilient leg as part of an attachment for the wheel of a motor vehicle. The leg is provided with a piston rod (4) that has a piston (5) attached to it, that travels into and out of a housing (1), that is attached at its outer end to the vehicle's chassis, and that is maintained in radial alignment by two separated bearings. The piston divides the interior of the housing into two fluid-charged chambers (9 & 10). The object is to ensure satisfactory transmission of moments of force from the piston rod to the housing in a leg that is light in weight. The piston rod accordingly extends through, and is maintained in radial alignment at, both ends of the leg.

Abstract: The invention relates to a jack with supporting parts, which are provided as profiles that have U-shaped cross-sections and lateral profile limbs (15, 17) or which are provided as elements with laterally elevated sheet metal lobes (13). Said supporting parts are pivotally interconnected by joints (5, 6) in such a manner that the lateral profile limbs (15, 17) and/or the elevated sheet metal lobes (13) overlap in the vicinity of the joints (5, 6), and arbors pass through borings in the lateral profile limbs (15, 17) or elevated sheet metal lobes (13). The aim of the invention is to reduce the weight of a jack of the aforementioned type as well as the risk of the profile limb (15, 17) kinking.
Abstract: A device for increasing shock absorption by hydraulic means in the terminal section (19 & 27) of hydraulic shock absorbers with a shock-absorption piston (3) that divides the shock absorber into two compartments. The width of a channel that conveys hydraulic fluid through the piston is reduced by partly blocking the access of fluid thereto. The access comprises several individual accesses that do not mutually communicate. To ensure precise and constant increased shock absorption in the vicinity of the buffers, one or more individual accesses are completely blocked.
Abstract: Jack with an erect component in the form of a leg (1) that rests against the ground (4) and of a foot (2) articulated thereto and with a vehicle-lifting arm (6) that pivots around a fixed horizontal axis on the leg. The arm can be directly or indirectly raised or lowered away from and toward the ground by means of a spindle (7). The arm is provided with a fixed or pivoting vehicle-supporting component at its free end. At the other end, which engages the leg, the arm is provided with appropriate controls that displace a slide (10) along the leg such that the lower end (19) of the slide can come to rest against the leg-supporting surface (3) of the foot. The object is a lighter-weight jack that will be just as sturdy. A stop (21) is accordingly positioned on top of the leg-supporting surface and facing the slide's lower end.
Abstract: An automotive jack with a vertical main structure resting on a ground and provided with a leg, a foot, and a load supporting arm swingable around a fixed horizontal axis on the leg. A threaded shaft is used for raising the arm away from lowering toward the ground; a vehicle-engaging component with a free end and a convex adapter head at the free end. The adapter head engages a matching concave recess below a bottom of a vehicle being lifted.
