Publication number: 20180237876Abstract: A method is used to produce a grain-oriented electrical steel strip having optimized magnetic properties. The method may utilize a steel comprising in percent by weight 2.0-4.0% Si, 0.010-0.100% C, at most 0.065% Al, at most 0.02% N, and optionally further constituents, the balance being iron and unavoidable impurities. The steel may be processed to give a cold strip, which may then be subjected to oxidation/primary recrystallization annealing. The resultant cold strip may have an oxide layer to which an annealing separator layer is applied. In a subsequent high-temperature anneal, a forsterite layer forms therefrom, and an insulation layer may be applied thereto prior to a final anneal.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 29, 2016Publication date: August 23, 2018Applicant: THYSSENKRUPP ELECTRICAL STEEL GMBHInventors: Christian HECHT, Ludger LAHN, Carsten SCHEPERS

Publication number: 20140261895Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a grain-oriented steel flat product for electrotechnical applications, wherein, in a production step, “decarburising and nitriding annealing” is carried out in two stages. The first stage of the annealing process extends over a first time interval, which comprises heating the cold strip starting from a start temperature to a first target annealing temperature and holding it at this target annealing temperature, and the second stage of the annealing process extends over a second time interval, in which the cold strip is heated to a second target annealing temperature and subsequently held at this target annealing temperature.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 4, 2012Publication date: September 18, 2014Applicant: THYSSENKRUPP ELECTRICAL STEEL GMBHInventors: Heiner Schrapers, Thorsten Krenke, Christof Holzapfel, Ludger Lahn

Publication number: 20140034193Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for producing a grain-oriented flat steel product that is intended for the manufacture of parts for electrotechnical applications and has minimised magnetic loss values and optimised magneto-restrictive properties, including the operations providing a flat steel product, laser-treating the flat steel product, wherein, in the course of the laser treatment, linear deformations, which are arranged with a spacing L, are formed into the surface of the flat steel product by means of a laser beam emitted by a laser beam source with a power P. The method according to the invention for producing flat steel products is optimally suited for the manufacture of parts for transformers.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 22, 2011Publication date: February 6, 2014Applicant: THYSSENKRUPP ELECTRICAL STEEL GMBHInventors: Eyup Duman, Christof Holzapfel, Thorsten Krenke, Ludger Lahn, Régis Lemaitre, Chaoyong Wang, Thierry Belgrand

Publication number: 20130251984Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a grain-oriented electrical steel flat product with minimised magnetic loss values wherein the method comprises the following work steps: a) providing an electrical steel flat product, b) applying a layer of a phosphatic insulation solution for at least one surface of the electrical steel flat product and baking the applied layer. In order that the tensile stresses acting on the surface of an electrical steel flat product are increased further by means of such a method, the invention proposes that, after a first execution of work step b) this work step b) is repeated at least once, so that from the layers of phosphatic insulation solution applied and baked one after another and one on top of the other an insulation coating is obtained.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 22, 2011Publication date: September 26, 2013Applicant: THYSSENKRUPP ELECTRICAL STEEL GMBHInventors: Carsten Schepers, Chaoyong Wang, Ludger Lahn, Heiner Schrapers, Stefan Pahlke
