Abstract: A touch display device and a method for driving a touch display device. The touch display device includes a touch unit and a display unit; the touch unit includes a first touch electrode layer having a plurality of first touch electrodes, each of which includes a plurality of touch sub-electrodes; the display unit includes an array substrate, a color filter substrate disposed opposite to the array substrate, a display function layer disposed between the array substrate and the color filter substrate, and a plurality of gate electrodes disposed on the array substrate; where, a projection of each of the touch sub-electrodes in a direction perpendicular to the array substrate is located between two adjacent ones of the plurality of gate electrodes.
