Abstract: A swimming ladder system can include a ladder configured to be mounted to a support surface, and a pivot connected to the ladder for anchoring the ladder to the support surface. The pivot can include at least one detent for arresting movement of the ladder at a lowered or operative orientation, a raised or stowed orientation, an intermediate orientation between the lowered or operative orientation and the raised or stowed orientation, and so forth. In some embodiments, the swimming ladder system includes a ratchet lock with a latch, where the latch can be moved between a first orientation for arresting movement of the ladder in a first direction and a second orientation for arresting movement of the ladder in a second direction.

Abstract: A system can include a motor for driving a tarp roller across a trailer for covering and uncovering the trailer with a tarp. The system can also include a power supply for powering the motor. The system can further include a sensor coupled with the motor for sensing power consumed by the motor as the motor is powered to drive the tarp roller across the trailer. A controller can be communicatively coupled with the sensor and operatively coupled to the motor and the power supply for switching an energy characteristic of the power supplied to the motor from the power supply between a first characteristic associated with a lower torque and a second characteristic associated with a higher torque by monitoring the power consumed by the motor and switching the energy characteristic when the power consumed by the motor indicates the lower torque is insufficient to drive the tarp roller.

The drive shaft extends between and is rotatably mounted to the first mobile support assembly and the second mobile support assembly. The cover carrier mechanism extends between and is rotatably mounted to the first mobile support assembly and the second mobile support assembly. The cover carrier mechanism is configured for selectably deploying a cover carried thereby, with the cover carrier mechanism being configured to respectively roll and unroll the cover relative thereto.

Abstract: A system can include a trailer, a tarp roller, a tarp, and an arm for translating the tarp roller across the trailer. An arm can be attached to a mount disposed on a door of the trailer. The arm can include a rigid arm segment to attach to the mount and a flexible cable and a universal connector to connect to an intermediate position on the tarp roller. An arm can include a longitudinally extending rigid arm segment having a first longitudinal axis, another longitudinally extending rigid arm segment having a second longitudinal axis, and a connector coupling the rigid arm segments together. The connector can include attach points where ends of the rigid arm segments attach to the connector. The connector can also have biasing mechanisms at the attach points to urge the rigid arm segments into an orientation. A stop can include a frame with a tab.

Abstract: In one embodiment of the invention, conditioning means for providing air at a desired temperature are located adjacent to the front end of a vehicle. The conditioning means have an inlet adjacent the top of the vehicle and an outlet adjacent the bottom. Conditioned air flows from the outlet through an imperforate passageway along the bottom of the vehicle to the rear end of the vehicle where the conditioned air moves vertically through a passageway in the rear door and is discharged adjacent the top of the vehicle. The discharged conditioned air flows in normal convection paths back to the inlet of said conditioning means. In another embodiment, the conditioning means are located adjacent to the bottom of the vehicle between the front and rear ends thereof.

Abstract: A locking means for locking the rear doors of a truck trailer in closed position while providing suitable resistance to unauthorized entry. First and second pipes are mounted in an aligned relationship on the rear doors of a truck trailer and a third pipe is inserted into the first and second pipes. A hollow elongated body covers a depending segment secured to the third pipe and locking means are attached to the segment. The third pipe has a non-connected pipe housed therein which pipe is readily rotatable and functions to prevent the complete sawing of the third pipe.
