  • Patent number: 7130804
Abstract: Disclosed is a system for supporting sales and maintenance activities of steam traps by a seller of the traps to a customer. The system utilizes an aggregating system which effects a step of inputting stored diagnostic result data and model confirmation result data from a diagnostic device which has diagnosed a working condition of each of a plurality of existing steam traps installed in a customer's plant. Based on the diagnostic result data, a first total steam loss amount due to malfunction of steam traps is calculated, the first total steam loss amount comprising aggregation of steam leak amounts of all the existing steam traps. Based on the model confirmation result data, a second total steam loss amount is calculated, which comprises aggregation of differences between inherent steam leak amounts of the existing steam traps under their normal working conditions and inherent steam leak amounts of recommended steam traps under their normal working conditions.

  • Patent number: 7089885
Abstract: In a steam-heating apparatus in which a heating section formed in a heat exchanger is connected to a steam supply pipe for receiving supply of heating steam and connected also to a condensate recovering unit for discharging condensate produced as a result of heating, the apparatus includes a steam ejector including a suction chamber connected to the heating section and an inlet for receiving supply of the steam. When the temperature of the heating section or between the heating section and the condensate recovering unit is dropped by a predetermined value, steam is supplied from the steam supply pipe to the inlet of the steam ejector, and gas in the heating section is sucked into the suction chamber of the steam ejector.

  • Patent number: 7089960
Abstract: The present invention is a ball valve which may be attached to a fluid pipe for connection/disconnection between an entrance and an exit. More particularly, the present invention is a ball valve having a discharge orifice communicating with ambient air in addition to the entrance and the exit for connection/disconnection between the entrance and the discharge orifice and/or between the exit and the discharge orifice. The ball valve of the present invention may be attached to piping systems such as, for example, the secondary side of a steam trap, which blocks steam but automatically discharges condensed water, and is used for checking a discharging state of the primary side steam trap and/or releasing remaining pressure on the secondary side.

  • Patent number: 6420167
Abstract: To make organic fertilizer by performing fermentation treatment of organic waste containing a large quantity of water content such as garbage, while maintaining conditions of treatment suitable for fermentation. A fermentation treatment apparatus of organic waste according to the present invention is constituted in such a way that a steam supply pipe 3 is connected to a jacket part 2 of a fermentation tank 1 by way of reducing valves 17 and 18, and a vacuum pump 4 is connected below the jacket part 2 by way of a communicating line 27. When steam reduced in pressure lower than 100° C. is supplied into the jacket part 2, the waste housed within the fermentation tank 1 can be promptly treated with fermentation by utilizing condensation heat of steam. Furthermore, the air at a predetermined humidity is supplied into the fermentation tank 1 from the air supply part 36, so that fermentation treatment due to aerobic bacteria can be performed in a short time and efficiently.

  • Patent number: 6244828
Abstract: A combination pump and trap is disclosed which includes a snap-over mechanism useful for small floats with little buoyancy. The snap-over mechanism has a geometry in which the distance between the float or compression arm pivot point and the pivot for the portion of the spring connected to a first arm or toggle link is greater than the distance from the float or compression arm pivot point and the pivot for the portion of the spring connected to the float or compression arm. This geometry allows the magnification of buoyancy by the main arm which is transmitted to the first toggle link to be large and the magnification of buoyancy by the first toggle link which is transmitted to the change-over valve to be large. A trap which is connected to the float arm is also used, which allows a liquid seal to be maintained at the liquid discharge port.

  • Patent number: 6131602
Abstract: A condensate discharge device which prevents metal ions from attaching and depositing on the condensate discharge port surface. An inlet, a condensate discharge port, and an outlet are formed in a valve casing, which valve casing includes an upper casing and a lower casing. A valve seat member having a discharge passage is screwed into the lower casing. The discharge passage includes a first orifice having a smaller opening area than the condensate discharge port, and a second orifice having a smaller opening area than the first orifice. A movable member is mounted through the second orifice. On end of the movable member rests on one side of the second orifice, and another end is located on the other side of the second orifice. Condensate flows slowly through the condensate discharge port, preventing metal ions from attaching there, and flows rapidly through the second orifice.

  • Patent number: 6015267
Abstract: A cylindrical perforated member is mounted between a working fluid inlet port and a hermetic vessel that a working fluid supplied into the hermetic vessel at the working fluid inlet port will not directly contact the forced-feed liquid surface. At the working fluid inlet port is mounted a ring-shaped member with a divergent section having the smallest flow passage area. The working fluid stream is deflected and dispersed by the cylindrical perforated member, to produce a pressure for feeding the liquid rapidly within the hermetic vessel, thus enabling the rapid forced-feed of the liquid.

  • Patent number: 5833135
Abstract: A thermally-actuated steam trap comprises a valve casing having an inlet, a valve chest and an outlet. A valve seat member with a discharge passage is disposed between the valve chest and the outlet. A temperature control element with an expansible medium sealed therein is disposed within the valve chest, and consists of two disk-shaped wall members, at least one wave-like diaphragm member provided between the wall members, and a valve member secured to the diaphragm member. Displacement of the diaphragm accompanying the expansion and contraction of the expansible medium causes the valve member to come into and out of a seating engagement with the valve seat member to close and open the discharge passage. In order to avoid a state of producing a permanent deformation of the diaphragm of low elastic material and not to be affected by repeated use of the diaphragm, the upper surface of the lower disk-shaped wall member has a curved region corresponding to the wave form of the diaphragm member.
