Patents Assigned to TMG PERFORMANCE PRODUCTS
  • Patent number: 11400869
Abstract: An apparatus and method for personalized product modification is disclosed. The personalized product modification may be applied to various different types of vehicle components. For example, a lid covering may be placed on the top exterior portion of a particular vehicle component, such as an air intake system. The lid may have certain structural characteristics which provide for aesthetic features, such as colors or various other designs, to be subject to varying degrees of user customization. On the underside of the lid covering may be additional customizable components which provide for even greater user customization of the aesthetic appearance of various vehicle components. For example, various colors and designs may be placed on the exterior of the vehicle component, with the lid acting so as to safely and securely cover the customizable components.

  • Publication number: 20200080451
Abstract: Provided is a flow modification component for use with a muffler, which can be a Helmholtz resonator muffler, a side branch muffler, or a Y-pipe. The flow modification component includes a porous plate adapted for incorporation into a passage to a sound muffling portion connected to a through passage pipe of the muffler or Y-pipe. One or more openings are formed on the porous plate to allow low frequency acoustic waves to pass through into the passage to the sound muffling portion while reducing large-scale turbulent eddies that produce undesirable resonant tones within the aperture tube to small-scale turbulent eddies. The openings having sufficient porosity such that the resulting sound frequency is determined by size, shape, number, and spacing of the openings. The flow modification component can also include a dissipative material component in an internal port passage of the muffler to further reduce resonant tones.

  • Patent number: 7942239
Abstract: A muffler for reducing the sounds of combustion gases exhausted from an internal combustion engine including an elongated fluid passage extending between an inlet and an outlet such that the outlet is in fluid communication with the inlet. Further, the inlet being connectable with the gases exhausted from the engine and the outlet being connectable with the atmosphere. The muffler further including an outer tank surrounding the passage and a tubular connector having a first end in fluid connection with the passage and a second end in fluid connection with the tank such that the connector produces a fluid connection between the passage and the tank. The connectors having a perforated resistance plate to restrict the fluid flow between said passage and said sound chamber thereby reducing the severity of the sound or fluid pulses entering and exiting said sound chamber, perforations in said perforated plate forming an open portion of said plate and said open portion being less than 60 percent.

Abstract: A muffler for reducing the sounds of combustion gases exhausted from an internal combustion engine. The muffler including an elongated fluid passage extending between an inlet and an outlet such that the outlet is in fluid communication with the inlet. The inlet of the muffler being connectable with the gases exhausted from the engine and the outlet being connectable with the atmosphere. The passage having a first side region and a second side region circumferentially spaced from the first region with a fluid passage in at least one of the first and second side regions. The muffler further including a side attenuation sound chamber adjacent the at least one of the side regions wherein the chamber is circumferentially spaced from the other of the at least one side region.
