Patent number: 5928548Abstract: An electric heater intended for heating foam-moulded cushions, for instance for vehicle seats or mattresses. The heater consists of an electric conductor, e.g. an insulated or non-insulated metal wire, which is configured into the shape of one or several bands of closely juxtaposed bights, each one of which comprises a loop and an open portion facing away from the associated loop, substantially all open portions being interconnected by means of local interconnections, e.g. by means of glue, plastic welds or seams, whereby one or several bands of coherent patterns are formed, said patterns intended to be positioned in a mould for casting of cushions, such that the heater to an essential extent becomes anchored in the cushion.Type: GrantFiled: March 7, 1997Date of Patent: July 27, 1999Assignee: Tocksfors Verkstads ABInventor: Goran Johansson

Patent number: 5002335Abstract: The disclosure relates to an electrically heated vehicle seat (1) with cover fabric portions (5,6), heating element (7) and padding (4) sewn together with a plurality of first seams (11-16 and 21-26) and second seams (10,19,20,29). The heating element has heating portions separated from each other by the first seams and communication portions which electrically connect to each other the heating portions which have been separated by the first seams. The first seams are sewn through the heating element without crossing the heating portions or communication portions. The second seams are not sewn through the heating element and neither are they sewn through the padding. The disclosure also relates to a method of manufacturing an electrically heated vehicle seat, where cover fabric portions are sewn together with the heating element and padding using a plurality of seams.Type: GrantFiled: February 8, 1989Date of Patent: March 26, 1991Assignee: Tocksfors Verkstads ABInventor: Sten B. Patent number: 4868530Abstract: Electronic switch comprising an operating means (1;7;12;15;18) movable in the switch. The operating means has only one magnetic pole operative for its motion, said pole being arranged to coact without contact with at least one second magnetic pole of a second magnet (5;5a) placed in the switch.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 1988Date of Patent: September 19, 1989Assignee: Tocksfors Verkstads ABInventor: Wilgot Ahs

Patent number: 4827103Abstract: A method and a device for adjusting the heat flow at heating seats having heat generators (3) in the form of for example heating conductors placed in coils. The direction of the heat flow between the sitting surface of the seat and the heat generator (3) is sensed and power is supplied to the heat generator (3) when the direction of the heat flow is from the sitting surface into the chair.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 1988Date of Patent: May 2, 1989Assignee: Tocksfors Verkstads ABInventor: Torbjorn Asp

Patent number: 4764742Abstract: Electric relay comprising one or more relay tongues, a relay contact cooperating with the respective tongue and an electromagnet actuating the respective tongue. A relay tongue unit (3) is then integral with at least one relay tongue (4), which has in one part an area reducing cross sectional dimension and is formed at its end opposite to the free end with a material cut portion (23) serving as an electric fuse. The surface of the relay contact (6) cooperating with the contact point (5) of the relay tongue is movable to a limited extent relative to this and, moreover, the electromagnet (9) actuating the relay tongue (4) consists of two composite iron plates (31, 32) electrically insulated from each other which have each, insulated from each other, an electric connection (34) integral with the iron plate, the coil (37) fed by the operating current of the electromagnet (9) being connected with one of its conducting ends (38) to one iron plate (31) and with its other end (39) to the other iron plate (32).Type: GrantFiled: November 8, 1985Date of Patent: August 16, 1988Assignee: Tocksfors Verkstads ABInventor: Wilgot Ahs

Patent number: 4670725Abstract: In a relay tongue unit intended to be included in an electric relay the unit comprises at least one tongue unit in the form of a resilient sheet consisting of an attaching member, which comprises a main portion (1), a fuse portion (2) and a transition portion (3), and a tongue portion (4). This has at its free end a contact (5) and a resistance portion.Type: GrantFiled: November 8, 1985Date of Patent: June 2, 1987Assignee: Tocksfors Verkstads ABInventor: Wilgot Ahs

Patent number: 4572755Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of laying out and fixing a thin electric conductor on an elastic and flexible backing for heating seats and back of chairs, cushions, mattresses and the like. The method includes the steps of advancing the conductor out of a magazine and forming the conductor to a substantially permanent zigzag pattern constituting a strand. The strand is guided at a selected feed speed from a feeding arrangement to a structural body to be attached to a surface of the structural body. The feeding arrangement is moved along the structural body in a pattern desired for the completed product at a speed such that the relative speed between the strand and the structural body is substantially zero. The strand is fixedly attached to the structural body by an adhesive.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 1982Date of Patent: February 25, 1986Assignee: Tocksfors Verkstads ABInventor: Vilgot Ahs

Patent number: 4546238Abstract: The invention relates to a circuit arrangement for controlling the temperature of an electric heating element (10), where the resistance of the element is utilized as a measure of the temperature. When the element is switched on, the current flowing through the element is scanned by a small measuring resistor (16). The voltage drop (U.sub.1) arising over this resistor is compared to a reference value (U.sub.2) for interrupting the effect supply to the element when the element has achieved the desired temperature. Thereafter a weak test current is fed through the element, and a voltage drop (U.sub.3) dependant on the element temperature is compared to an additional reference value (U.sub.4) for again connecting the effect feed when the element temperature has dropped to a predetermined level. By means of the invention, which can be used for the temperature control of, for example, electrically heated car seats, both continuous temperature control and adjustable on/off-hysteresis are obtained.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 1983Date of Patent: October 8, 1985Assignee: Tocksfors Verkstads ABInventor: Vilgot Ahs
