    Abstract: An improved cutting tool having a cutting insert mounting member and a star shaped cutter insert holding member of similar diameter: the two members when interfitted, secure a plurality of cutting inserts about the outer circumference of the assembled tool. Secure clamping of the cutters is achieved through both axial and radial clamping forces generated by the action of the holding member. Additional radial and axial clamping forces are exerted on the cutting inserts by centripetal acceleration acting on the members during operation. Depth limiters devices that mount in the tool act as skids on the work surface to control the aggressiveness of the cut. An isolation mechanism may be included to eliminate oscillations transmitted by the hand held power unit to the cutting tool.
