Abstract: A system, process, and apparatus are disclosed for use with remote sensors. A universal translator is disclosed that communicates with a sensor or related device. The universal translator stores data, converts data to a standardized form, transmits data to a cloud-based operating system, and receives updates and instructions from the cloud-based operating system. The cloud-based operating system allows remote sensor/universal translator pairs and remote users to interact in a variety of ways. A number of processes are performed by the universal translator, other processes are performed by the cloud-based operating system, and some processes are performed jointly by the universal translator and the cloud-based operating system. In addition, an application for smart phones, tablets, or the like is disclosed for use during the installation of a remote sensor and/or universal translator.
