Abstract: A pump for a printing press includes a plunger accommodated within a main bore of a cylinder to be rotatable and reciprocatable and having a cutaway portion at its distal end, and a constant-speed motor for rotating and reciprocating the plunger. The plunger and the output shaft of the motor are radially offset relative to each other and inclined with respect to each other. The output shaft of the motor is coupled to the plunger via a transmission mechanism which includes an arm and a connection member. The arm is connected to, for example, the plunger, and the connection member is connected to, for example, the output shaft of the motor. The arm and the connection member are connected with each other at an eccentric position in such a manner that the arm and the connection member can displace relative to each other in the radial direction and can change the intersecting angle therebetween.

  • Patent number: 6539860
Abstract: In a rotary press intended to perform the synchronous control of driving means with high precision, quickly stabilize rotation, and reduce spoilage caused by phase shifts, comprising a plurality of printing mechanisms in which driving means M rotate N turns while plate cylinders P rotate one turn, so that printing images can be printed on a paper web sequentially passing through each printing mechanism in such a manner that the printing images are matched with a predetermined reference, in which a control section 3 replaces the rotational phase of the plate cylinder with the rotational phase of the driving means M corresponding to that rotational phase so as to match the printing images with a predetermined reference, converts a shift between the rotational phase of the driving means M for matching and the rotational phase of the driving means M in a normal state into the number of outputs of the first pulse signals, set it as a correction value, and obtains a virtual feedback value by shifting the rotational

  • Publication number: 20020193220
Abstract: A paper-web guide apparatus includes a guide member having a vibration guide surface which is curved about an axis and is adapted to guide the paper web toward a desired direction, and a vibration excitation unit for vibrating the guide member about the axis to thereby generate ultrasonic torsion vibration on the vibration guide surface. The vibration guide surface may be further displacable about the axis, and a displacement drive unit for displacing the curved vibration guide surface about the axis may be provided. When the vibration excitation unit is operated, the guide member is twisted about the axis and thus ultrasonic torsion vibration is generated on the curved vibration guide surface. As a result, antinodes and nodes of vibration appear on the curved vibration guide surface, whereby frictional resistance between the paper web and the curved guide surface decreases.

  • Patent number: 6481348
Abstract: A groove for receiving opposite end edges of an object, like a printing plate that extends around a printing cylinder, is formed in a printing cylinder adjacent the outer circumferential surface thereof to extend from an axially extending anchor-shaft hole to the outer circumferential surface of the cylinder body. One wall surface of the groove intersects, at an acute angle, a tangent plane passing through a line of intersection between the wall surface and the outer circumferential surface of the printing cylinder, thereby forming an edge together with the circumferential surface of the printing cylinder. When an anchor shaft inserted into the anchor-shaft hole is rotated by means of elastic force, pins studded into a cutaway surface of the anchor-shaft enter anchor holes formed in an end edge portion of the object and secure the end edge portion within the groove. Thus, the object is attached to the printing cylinder.
