  • Patent number: 7276826
Abstract: A simple construction causes a spindle motor rotor to be eccentric in a pickup moving direction and improves axial run-out caused by clearance between a rotating shaft and a bearing. A magnetic cap is attached to an end of a bearing of a spindle motor so as to cover an end face. A ceiling of the magnetic cap is an annular magnetic material in which a lid and opposing face protruding therefrom are continuous, and the opposing face works with an annular magnet attached to the rotor to generate an attraction force that causes the rotor to be eccentric. The opposing face is formed so as to be linearly symmetrical with respect to the axis line, which is the pickup movement line.

  • Patent number: 7247963
Abstract: Because the bearing of an eccentric rotor is small, when it is integrated in a rotor by resin molding, the bearing unit can be fractured by impacts unless it has a sufficient mounting strength. Accordingly, an eccentric rotor is provided in which a sufficient mounting strength of the bearing on the rotor is ensured and the bearing unit is prevented from fracture by impacts. Also a vibration motor using the eccentric rotor is provided. The eccentric rotor includes a printed wiring board, a cylindrical bearing for insertion of a shaft, and a weight which are integrated to have a flat disk shape by resin molding. A shaft insertion hole has a diameter larger than the outer diameter of the shaft and smaller than the outer diameter of the bearing, and the bearing is integrated by resin molding in a state in which the entire periphery at the end portion thereof is disposed in contact with the printed wiring board around the insertion hole.

  • Patent number: 7002272
Abstract: A lubricating oil scattering prevention arrangement provided near a bearing whereby the outward scattering of lubricating oil that leaked from between a stator and rotor due to tilting, impact or the like is prevented. A plate-shaped rotor case 30 is provided with a descending portion 31, a step portion 32 and an outer peripheral portion 33. A magnet 4 is provided on the inner side of the outer peripheral portion 33 and a lubricating oil absorption member is provided between the magnet 4 and the step portion 32. Because an outer peripheral portion of the lubricating oil absorption member is compressed by the magnet 4 upper surface portion and the step portion 32 and thus attached, the lubricating oil absorption member absorbs lubricating oil leaked from the bearing part and the compressed portion prevents the lubricating oil from leaking outwardly.
