  • Patent number: 4394778
Abstract: The output of a voltage controlled oscillator serving as a local oscillator is frequency divided by a prescaler and a programmable frequency divider, and the frequency divided output is applied to a phase locked loop including a phase comparator and a charge pump. An S curve signal obtained from a frequency discriminator is applied to an automatic frequency control loop including a window comparator and a charge pump. The outputs of these two charge pumps are applied through an analog switch to a common low-pass filter and the output of the low-pass filter is applied to the voltage controlled oscillator as a control voltage. A state of reception by the tuner is detected based on the output of an intermediate frequency amplifier and the analog switch is responsive to the detected output and a lock detected output of the phase locked loop.

  • Patent number: 4353034
Abstract: An FM signal is applied to an input of a differential amplifier including a pair of transistors having symmetrical characteristics. A 180.degree. phase shifting circuit is connected between two inputs of the differential amplifier. Accordingly, the inputs of the pair of transistors of the differential amplifier receive the FM signal, as converted into an AM signal. The respective base-emitter rectifying junctions of the pair of transistors each rectify the AM signals, as received. The emitter electrodes of the pair of transistors are commonly connected through a predetermined resistor, with the common connection point being connected to the ground through a capacitor. Accordingly, a smoothing circuit is implemented by the emitter resistor and the capacitor. A load resistor is connected to the collector electrode of one of the pair of transistors, so that a detected output is withdrawn therefrom.

  • Patent number: 4314377
Abstract: A noise removing apparatus is interposed between an FM detecting circuit and a stereo demodulating circuit. The noise removing apparatus is responsive to a pulsive noise included in the output from the detecting circuit to enable a first gate to interrupt transmission of the output. Although the stereo pilot signal is disturbed during the interruption period, the disturbed stereo pilot signal is canceled by a pseudo-stereo pilot signal (a signal similar to the pilot signal) separately generated, whereby the disturbed stereo pilot signal is prevented from being applied to the stereo demodulating circuit.

  • Patent number: 4289981
Abstract: An input signal including a pulsive noise such as an ignition noise in superposition on a continuous noise such as a white noise is applied commonly to the base electrodes of a pair of transistors of the same conductivity type implementing a differential amplifier. The amplified signal is applied to first and second rectifying circuits for full-wave rectification. The output of the first rectifying circuit is detected by a detecting circuit. The output of the second rectifying circuit is applied to a pulsive noise detecting circuit for detection of a pulsive component. The ratio of the detecting level of the detecting circuit to the detecting level of the pulsive noise detecting circuit is determined for avoiding malfunction of the pulsive component detecting circuit by virtue of the continuous noise.
