Abstract: The present invention provides a DNA vaccine for carps for inducing protective immunity against Koi herpesvirus (KHV). The DNA vaccine comprises a DNA comprising a nucleotide sequence encoding an immunogenic polypeptide against Koi herpesvirus (KHV) of carps, or an expression vector comprising the DNA as an active ingredient.

Abstract: The present invention provides a new supply source of phospholipase A1, which is useful for phospholipid modification and lipid biochemical research, and offers a method capable of efficiently manufacturing a large amount of high DHA content phospholipids and lysophospholipids. A novel microorganism HFKI-0020 (FERM AP-20545) of the genus Pseudomonas which produces enzymes with phospholipase A1 activity can be used as a new supply source of enzymes with the phospholipase A1 activity. A lipid-modifying agent containing an effective dose of enzymes with the phospholipase A1 activity produced by those novel microorganisms allows the efficient mass-production of lysophospholipids.

Abstract: Survey of fishery resources is automatically effected by providing an identification element (i.e. IC tag) to each fishing gear, locating a plurality of such fishing gears under the sea to catch fishery resources, thereafter, using a reading device (e.g. tag reader) to read all the identification elements to obtain an identification data for each of the fishing gears, while obtaining an operating position in this survey by GPS device, and then counting number of fish catches for each of the fishing gears. All the data thus obtained are processed by a computer, so that a data of fishery resources distribution under the sea can be obtained automatically, without requiring much labor and expenses in conducting the survey. A device for effecting such method is also provided.

Abstract: The present invention provides a fine particle removing apparatus which can efficiently burn collected fine particles in exhaust gas, has a simple configuration and can be readily controlled. In this fine particle removing apparatus, a filter unit which collects fine particles in the exhaust gas is arranged in a housing formed of a non-magnetic material through which the exhaust gas passes. By supplying a high-frequency current to a working coil wound around an outer peripheral section of the housing, support plates arranged in this filter unit are subjected to induction heating, and fine particles accumulated in the filter unit are burned with heat generated by this induction heating.
