Patent number: 6767008Abstract: A diffuser for use in a pressurized feed system. The diffuser introduces a carbonic acid solution into water to be treated. The carbonic acid solution within the diffuser is maintained at an elevated pressure. As the carbonic acid solution passes to the exterior of the diffuser, the pressure drop causes an effective mixing of the carbonic acid solution and the water. The carbonic acid solution mixes with the water and the pH of the water is reduced.Type: GrantFiled: October 11, 2002Date of Patent: July 27, 2004Assignee: TomcoInventor: Tommy J. Shane

Patent number: 6349565Abstract: An improved dry ice pelletizer and method for significantly increased pellet production. The improvement consists of multiple injection ports used for the timed introduction of liquid carbon dioxide into a dry ice extrusion cylinder so that the cylinder can be more completely filled with carbon dioxide snow before extrusion takes place. Part of the improvement stems from the use of a solid mass of carbon dioxide, called a puck, which is chamfered and serves to capture carbon dioxide vapor and snow within the compression cylinder. The resulting improvement in carbon dioxide pellet output is roughly 400% over that achieved by conventional methods. The inventive improvement may also be installed as a retrofit to conventional dry ice pellet extrusion machines.Type: GrantFiled: September 11, 2000Date of Patent: February 26, 2002Assignee: TomcoInventor: Brian Greer

Patent number: 4049232Abstract: A proportional pressure compensating hydraulic control valve having a valve body and a valve spool mounted in the valve body for movement from a neutral or open center position wherein fluid flows through the valve body to an operating position wherein the flow of fluid through the valve is restricted to direct inlet fluid through a flow control orifice to a pressure passage within the valve body, the pressure passage being connected to one of a pair of cylinder passages, the other cylinder passage being connected to a tank passage. The valve spool in an open center mode controlling the flow of fluid to the control orifice and being pressure compensated to maintain a predetermined flow rate through the control orifice, pressure compensation being achieved by imposing inlet and pressure passage pressures selectively to each end of the valve spool so that the valve spool responds to the pressure differential across the control orifice.Type: GrantFiled: June 25, 1975Date of Patent: September 20, 1977Assignee: Tomco, Inc.Inventor: James Otto Byers, Jr.
