  • Publication number: 20030039938
Abstract: An orthodontic bracket has a front side part, a bump portion, an inner side part which are formed on a ceiling face of a guide portion in such a manner that the front side part, the bump portion, the inner side part are formed in order in a guiding direction to which a clip is guided by the guide portion. The orthodontic bracket further has a sliding-rotation supporter provided at the lower end of the clip. When the sliding-rotation supporter slides on the ceiling face and gets over the bump portion from the front side part to reach the inner side part of the ceiling face, the clip can press the archwire down toward the bottom of the archwire slot.

  • Publication number: 20020119414
Abstract: An orthodontic bracket enabling to securely maintain positive pressure of an archwire effecting to the bottom of an archwire slot even if doing the rotational control more than a determined amount. The orthodontic bracket has a base, a main body furnished on the base, an archwire slot formed in the main body, a guiding part crossing with the slot, and a band-like clip guided in the guiding part. A clip is curved in U-shape as covering at least one part of a reverse base side in the archwire slot, and a locking portion furnished at one end side in the length direction of the clip creeps under a cover portion supported by the main body. The locking claw formed in the locking portion and a covering claw formed in the cover portion get over and engage each other.

  • Patent number: 6358043
Abstract: In an orthodontic appliance fit into the mouth, at least either one of an orthodontic bracket or an arch wire is composed of a composite resin. A reinforcing member is provided at a slot of the bracket and exposed to an inner wall surface of the slot. The reinforcing member is extended into tie wings which are formed as being extended toward the gingival side of the slot and towards the occlusal side. The composite resin is a resin, e.g., a polymer alloy, in which two or more kinds of resin having contrary capacities, i.e., durability and adhesiveness, are blended. Further, a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) is dispersed into a matrix resin to accomplish the strength and the solvent crack prevention, which are difficult to consist with each other. Dispersing TPE into the matrix resin is one kind of polymer alloying, and thus obtained resin is the composite resin.
