Abstract: An apparatus for electroplating a master, comprising: a frame having a first frame portion (106) supporting an electroplating bath unit (210) and a second frame portion (104) for supporting electrically operated units (240, 250, 260, 270, 140) including a display unit (140). The frame forms a vertically extended construction in an operational state. The first frame portion (106) and the second frame portion (104) are interconnected (108, 300) such that the apparatus is foldable to a transport state for reducing said vertical extension of the apparatus. The first frame portion (106) and the second frame portion (104) forms a single frame in the transport state and in the operating state.
Abstract: A nozzle for simultaneous application of a string of glue on two facing adjacent disc surfaces, especially for gluing together two optical disc elements to form a DVD. In order to make possible higher glue application rates and smaller dimensions of the glue application nozzle, the nozzle can steer the flow towards the facing disc elements. For this purpose, the nozzle has a channel outlet opening which has upper and lower outlet areas and therebetween a constricted outlet area.
Abstract: A device for evenly distributed electrical current transmission to a disc element when electroplating the disc element includes a closed loop of an elongated, elastic, electrically conducting body contacting one side of the disc element at least at its outer peripheral area.
Abstract: A device for bending a flat, round disc element, especially for forming a widened gap between two adjacent, facing disc elements which are to be glued together, includes a first part for contact with a first portion of the disc element, a second part for contact with a second portion of the disc element. The second, radially outer part is axially movable relative to the first part. A vacuum source is disposed to bend the radially outer portion of the disc element as the second part is retracted.
Abstract: A method and a device for glueing together two disc elements. The two disc elements are brought together coaxially against each other to form a gap between the disc elements. In an inner area of the gap a liquid adhesive is applied so that it comes essentially simultaneously into contact with facing sides of the two disc elements. The two disc elements are then brought towards each other to achieve a uniform adhesive layer between the disc elements. The disc comprises lower and upper holders for respective disc elements and a unit for applying liquid adhesive in an inner area of the gap.
Abstract: The invention relates to a vessel arrangement for electroplating dies for production of information-carrying disks. The vessel (14) has a large number of gas extraction openings (34) located in a U-shaped manner around the periphery of the vessel opening (20) and in wall parts of the vessel, which lie close to the opening of the vessel and under a lid (16) covering this opening.
Abstract: The invention relates to a valve arrangement for supply steam and cooling water under pressure alternately to a compression moulding tool, via respective inlet valves. Upstream of the inlet valve cooling water taken from the cooling-water circuit is passed to piston arrangements, which act upon the inlet valves, and is used both as a working medium for the piston arrangements and as a cooling agent therefor.
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for separating a single outermost label from a stack of labels mounted on a centrally disposed shaft in a magazine. The apparatus utilizes a pair of friction members diametricaly opposed from said shaft and containing respective friction engaging elements which are caused to reciprocally move into a position where the friction engaging elements doggingly engage the outermost label of the stack and move toward one another thereby causing the outermost label to slide and bend outward from the next adjacent label in the stack. Included in the apparatus is an adjustable camming mechanism for varing the points at which the friction engaging elements contact the outermost label of the stack.
