  • Patent number: 6045317
Abstract: A vehicle including an elevatable cargo box to facilitate cargo loading and unloading. The vehicle includes a U-shaped cargo area within which the cargo box is located by mounted guides. The cargo box is movable between elevated and lowered positions by cables, which is operated by a drive system and is laterally secured in the elevated position by cones being fully registered within blocks. In a preferred embodiment, the cargo box is retrofitted to an existing vehicle. A series of cables is connected to corners of the cargo box and a drive is operably connected to the series of cables for retracting and extending the cables effecting the movement of the cargo box.

Abstract: A vehicle is provided with an elevatable cargo box to facilitate cargo loading and unloading. The vehicle includes a U-shaped cargo area within which the cargo box is located by mounted guides. The cargo box is movable between elevated and lowered positions by cables in response to a drive system, the cargo box being laterally secured in the elevated position by cones that engage within corresponding spaces in blocks. In a preferred embodiment, the cargo box is retrofitted to an existing vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5906419
Abstract: A wheel mounting assembly for installing a transmission-based anti-lock braking system sensor thereon has a stub axle. An anti-lock braking system sensor is mounted relative to the stub axle. A hub is rotatably mounted on the stub axle. A disc is mounted for rotation with the hub. The disc has a plurality of apertures circumferentially spaced on a face thereof for passing the anti-lock braking system sensor as the disc rotates.

  • Patent number: 5860661
Abstract: A pick-up truck vehicle is provided with an elevatable cargo box to facilitate cargo loading and unloading. The vehicle includes a U-shaped cargo area within which the cargo box is located, thereby requiring removal of all suspension assemblies to the outer sides of the vehicle to permit the cargo box to be movable between elevated and lowered positions. The side-mounted suspension assembly employs a leaf spring coupled to a pivoting wheel carrier. A pair of integrally formed longitudinal members couple the wheel carrier pivotally to the frame, and a transverse, upwardly directed arm is pivotally coupled to the leaf spring by a dual pivot arrangement. Pivoting action therefore is present relative to the frame and the leaf spring. The wheel carrier is integrally formed with the longitudinal members and the upwardly directed arm and is disposed beneath the leaf spring.

  • Patent number: 5630682
Abstract: A drill bit assembly has a housing having a central passageway including a pressure chamber and a vacuum chamber. The pressure chamber is connectable with a pressure source and the vacuum chamber is connectable with a vacuum source. The pressure chamber and vacuum chamber are in fluid communication with each other. A bearing assembly has an outer race rigidly mounted within the pressure chamber and an inner race for frictionally engaging the drill bit. A bracket mounts the housing with the drill bit extending through the central passageway. A seal is formed between the pressure chamber and the vacuum chamber as fluid, such as air, from the pressure source flows into the pressure chamber to the vacuum chamber for exhausting to the vacuum source.

  • Patent number: 5356590
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a moulded part using a first and second mould, wherein the first mould has a complementary design of the outer surface of the moulded part and the second mould has a complementary design of the inner surface of the moulded part and a boss cavity for forming an outer wall of a thin-walled boss to be moulded onto the inner face of the moulded part. The steps include seating a plug substantially co-planar with the complementary inner surface design and extending the plug into the boss cavity presenting an inner wall of the boss, wherein the thickness between the inner and outer wall of the boss is less than 60% of the thickness of the moulded part where the boss is moulded thereto. Closing the first and second mould forming a mould cavity. Injecting molten material into the mould cavity. Waiting a predetermined amount of time to allow the molten material to harden. Opening the first and second moulds. Extending the plug from the boss cavity.
