  • Patent number: 10882162
Abstract: A screw bit body which allows for efficient torque force application onto a socket fastener from a variety of angles. The screw bit body includes a plurality of laterally-bracing sidewalls, a first base, and a second base. The laterally-bracing sidewalls are radially distributed about a rotation axis of the screw bit body with each further including a first lateral edge, a second lateral edge, a concave surface, a convex surface, and an engagement cavity. The convex surface is adjacent to the first base and the concave surface is adjacent to the second base to create a ball-like shape. The engagement cavity creates a gripping point to prevent slippage in between the screw bit body and the socket fastener. The engagement cavity traverses normal and into the concave surface and the convex surface. Additionally, the engagement cavity traverses into the screw bit body from the first base to the second base.

  • Patent number: 9687968
Abstract: A wrench-type tool that utilizes a plurality of engagement features to efficiently transfer torque to a fastener in order to rotate said fastener. The wrench-type tool includes a wrench-type torque-tool body. The wrench-type torque-tool body is the physical structure used to apply a torque force onto the fastener and includes a plurality of internal sidewalls and a plurality of engagement teeth. The plurality of internal sidewalls is radially distributed about a pivot axis of the wrench-type torque-tool body. Each of the plurality of engagement teeth is adjacently connected to a corresponding sidewall from the plurality of internals sidewalls in order to directly engage the sidewalls of the fastener. To increase the total contact surface with the fastener, a prismatic altitude for each of the plurality of engagement teeth is aligned parallel to the pivot axis. Furthermore, each of the plurality of engagement teeth is oriented towards the pivot axis.

  • Patent number: 8397650
Abstract: A hollow upper deck panel for a plastic pallet has a smooth solid top surface and is made by thermoforming heated upper and lower twin sheets of thermoplastics material. The lower sheet is vacuum-formed into a lower mold section to form parallel spaced inverted U-shaped elongated open ribs projecting upwardly and having top portions fused to the upper sheet. The upper sheet is vacuum-formed into an upper mold section which has extendable and retractable blades to form parallel spaced elongated closed double wall ribs projecting downwardly between the open ribs and have bottom portions fused to the lower sheet. The closed double wall ribs extend transversely or perpendicular to the open ribs, and the ribs reinforce the deck panel in all directions. Support structure for the upper deck panel is also formed of plastics material and defines spaces for receiving parallel spaced forks of a forklift truck.

  • Patent number: 8075819
Abstract: An upper press platen supports an upper mold member slidable vertically within a surrounding upper trim frame. A lower press platen supports a lower trim frame surrounding a lower mold member slidable vertically within the lower trim frame. The lower mold member defines a cavity connected to a vacuum source, and one or two heated sheets of material are positioned between the trim frames and mold members which are then closed to clamp peripheral portions of the sheets between the trim frames. The lower heated sheet is vacuum formed into the cavity and the sheets are fused together with heat and pressure to form a part which is then cooled. The mold members shift downwardly as a unit within the trim frames to shear the peripheral portions of the sheets from the part. The trimmed part and peripheral portions are removed after the trim frames and mold members open.

  • Patent number: 7963717
Abstract: A first tooling component is positively secured to a second tooling component by one or more quick change locking couplers each including a cylinder secured to the first tooling component and having peripherally spaced holes supporting balls for radial movement. A stud is secured to the second tooling component and has an enlarged head portion projecting into the cylinder. A cup-shaped piston surrounds the cylinder and has a recess for receiving the balls in a released position, and a housing supports the piston for axial movement between the released position and a locked position forcing the balls to engage the stud. A compression spring moves the piston to the locked position, and air pressure moves the piston to the released position. A proximity sensor is supported by the housing and detects the piston in the locked position to provide an electrical signal to a remote visual and/or audio indicator.

  • Patent number: 7258539
Abstract: A set of injection mold sections are supported and secured to parallel spaced platens of an injection molding press by quick-change locking couplers including a plurality of projecting knobs or studs on each mold section. The studs are received within corresponding cylinders each having a tapered seat which engages a mating surface on the stud. Each cylinder also supports circumferentially spaced balls movable between locked positions engaging enlarged head portions of the studs and retracted released positions in response to axial movement of a spring biased piston within a housing. The pistons are moved to released positions in response to pressurized air supplied simultaneously to the housings. The locking couplers may be recessed within an adapter plate disposed between a mold section and the supporting platen, and the adapter plate has a pattern of threaded holes for mounting a conventional mold section.
