Patents Assigned to Toppan Moore Co., Ltd.
  • Patent number: 6037042
Abstract: A label sheet comprises a substrate and an adhesive layer formed by applying an adhesive agent to a surface of the substrate, said adhesive layer being formed only on a limited area of the surface. With such an arrangement and if it is part of a larger label sheet or a multi-layer structure of label sheets, it can be stripped off easily from the remaining part. If perforations are formed in adhesive free areas, they do not produce any projections of the applied adhesive agent so that the final product can be handled with ease. Additionally, by forming an adhesive-repellent layer on the outer surface with an ink type adhesive-repellent agent, the overall manufacturing process can be simplified and the product is adapted to making by hand.

  • Patent number: 5798315
Abstract: A microcapsule-containing oil-based coating liquid wherein the coating liquid comprises a hydrophobic core material-containing microcapsule particles dispersed individually in a state of primary particle in an oil varnish for ink use or a resin for coating use, and a solvent having an affinity for both the varnish or the resin and the surface of the microcapsule wall material in a state of having been attracted with the affinity to both the varnish or the resin and the surface layer of the microcapsule wall material. The preferred solvent is a lower divalent or multivalent alcohol.A preparative method of the foregoing coating liquid by utilizing vacuum distillation is also proposed.A sheet, like a duplicating sheet of paper coated with the foregoing oil-based coating liquid is further provided.According to the present invention, a water-based microcapsules system can be advantageously converted into an oil-based one without coagulating the primary microcapsule particles.

  • Patent number: 5190818
Abstract: The adhesive composition of the invention exhibits an adequately controlled adhesive bonding strength when paper sheets coated therewith are bonded together to be adaptable to subsequent separation of the bonded sheets of paper by peeling. The essential ingredients of the adhesive composition include: (a) a rubber latex; (b) a silica gel powder having a specified average particle diameter; and (c) a starch, preferably, having a specified particle diameter, e.g. wheat starch, each in a specified weight proportion. In addition to the good balance between the reliability of the adhesive bonding and subsequent peelability, the paper sheet coated with the adhesive composition is prevented from a decrease in the adhesiveness even when the surface is contaminated with a silicone oil and from the troubles due to blocking when adhesive-coated sheets are stacked one on the other with the adhesive-coated surfaces in direct contact with each other.

  • Patent number: 5104022
Abstract: A continuous paper sheet has a plurality of transversal perforation lines and a plurality of holes formed in the longitudinal margins of the paper sheet. The paper sheet is torn by two pairs of nipping rollers including a pair of upper and lower feed-in rollers and another pair of upper and lower pulling rollers. The pulling rollers of the latter pair rotate at a speed higher than that of the feed-in rollers so that the part of the sheet placed between the former pair of rollers and the latter pair of rollers is pulled or given tension, thus being torn and separated. After it has been confirmed the continuous paper sheet has been placed on a stand at a predetermined position, the length of the continuous paper sheet as folded is measured. The resultant measurement is compared to standard sizes previously inputted to a CPU in order to correct it to the approximate standard size.

  • Patent number: 4938900
Abstract: Microcapsules are prepared by adding a methylolated melamine or methylolated urea to an aqueous emulsion of the core material dispersed in an aqueous solution of a styrene/maleic anhydride copolymer partially hydrolyzed in an alkaline condition and heating the mixture at 40.degree. to 90.degree. C. in an acidic condition so that a reaction product forming the capsule walls is produced by the esterification reaction between the carboxyl groups in the partial hydrolysis product and the methylol groups in the methylolated melamine or urea and the amidation reaction between the carboxylic anhydride groups in the former and the amino groups in the latter. By virtue of the three dimensional network structure, the capsule walls are very dense and highly resistant against heat, water and solvents.

  • Patent number: 4918128
Abstract: The pressure-sensitive adhesive of the invention comprises a latex of natural rubber graft-copolymerized with 2 to 10% by weight of styrene and 10 to 25% by weight of methyl methacrylate and a finely divided particulate material having no thermoplasticity such as silica gels and zeolites in an amount of 5 to 30 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the natural rubber. The pressure-sensitive adhesive has excellent characteristics in the adhesive bonding, resistance against blocking, frictional behavior, heat resistance and abrasion resistance and also is free from the trouble of decrease in the adhesive bonding strength caused by the transfer of a silicone oil from the roller of printing machines.
