  • Patent number: 4907468
Abstract: A pedal effort-reduction apparatus according to the present invention comprises a pedal arm and a lever which is movable as one therewith. First and second torsion coil springs are provided between the lever and a support bracket. The first coil spring urges the pedal arm to return to its initial position before the arm, starting from the initial position, reaches a position at a predetermined rotational angle to the initial position. When the pedal passes the predetermined-angle position, the first spring begins to urge the pedal arm in the direction in which it is being pushed. The second spring is attached to the lever so as to urge the pedal arm only in the direction in which it is being pushed. Therefore, when the pedal arm is pushed past the predetermined-angle position, the repulsive force generated by both the first spring and the second spring then acts as a pedal effort-reduction force.

  • Patent number: 4851626
Abstract: A rubber spring is disposed on a base on which are mounted fixed electrodes. The rubber spring includes first and second cup sections. The first cup section is in the form of an inverted cup, whose top portion is smaller in diameter than the bottom portion thereof, and is adapted to be bent by a force applied thereto from above and to produce a resilient restoring force corresponding to the size of such deflection. The second cup section, which is located inside the first cup section, has a U-shaped longitudinal section and is adapted to be bent by a force applied thereto from above and to produce a resilient restoring force corresponding to such deflection. Thin-walled portions are formed at the bent portions of the first and second cup sections. A center projection protrudes upward from the center of the second cup section. The top face of the center projection is situated below the upper surface of the support seat.

  • Patent number: 4800774
Abstract: A pedal-load lightening apparatus comprising a pedal arm and a lever rockable in one therewith. A torsion coil spring is provided between the lever and a support bracket. The coil spring urges the pedal arm to return to its initial position before the arm, starting from the initial position, reaches a neutral position at a predetermined rotational angle to the initial position. When the neutral position is reached, the spring starts to urge the pedal arm in a treadling direction. Moreover, an urging element is attached to the support bracket or the lever. The urging element is adapted to press the pedal arm in the treadling direction, with a force smaller than the repulsive force of the torsion coil spring, within a stroke of the arm between the initial position and a position near the neutral position.

  • Patent number: 4772874
Abstract: A capacitive keyboard apparatus including a plurality of keys and a matrix of capacitive switches arranged in columns and rows and connected to the keys, respectively, wherein first and second drive signals sweep the columns of switches and first and second matrix output signals are generated from the rows of switches as the result of first and second drive signal supplied, provided that any key has been depressed during the sweeping. The first and second matrix output signals are convertred to first and second logic signals, respectively, each of which has a pulse width proportional to how deeply the key has been depressed. When the first logic signal has a pulse width broader than a first predetermined width, the second drive signal sweeps the columns of switches.

  • Patent number: 4633900
Abstract: A constant airflow control apparatus is connected to an air duct of an air conditioning system to keep the flow rate of air fed from the air duct constant. The apparatus comprises a rectangular pressure receiving plate slidably mounted on a guide shaft extending in one direction inside a passage of a housing. The plate extends substantially at right angles to the central axis of the housing so as to block part of the cross section of the passage. The apparatus further comprises a coil spring for urging the plate against the flow of the air, and two swinging plates swingably attached to two opposite side edges of the pressure receiving plate, individually. The swinging plates are adapted to change the cross-section area of an air passage defined between the swinging plates and the inner surface of the housing in a mode represented by a quadratic curve in accordance with a rectilinear change of the pressure of the air.

  • Patent number: 4553696
Abstract: An air flow rate sensor and throttle valve which controls the opening of a duct in accordance with the detection signals from the air flow rate sensor are provided in a control duct between a supply chamber utilizing double ceilings and the air diffusers in the supply chamber. The quantities of air fed from the respective air diffusers can be equalized or can be set to the desired values. In this case, since the air blowing can be automatically controlled for each diffuser, it is not necessary to individually adjust the quantities of air for the respective air diffusers after the installation of the air conditioner, thereby eliminating the adjusting works of the air diffusers.

  • Patent number: 4491061
Abstract: In an air conditioning system, a damper unit disposed in the middle of a circulating duct is controlled so that a throttle valve of at least one of air quantity regulating devices for controlling incoming outside air quantity and exhaust air quantity is fully open, and that the quantity of air passing through the device whose throttle valve is fully open is equal to a set air quantity. The control system for the damper unit is so-called floating control system that is responsive to the control conditions. If none of the throttle valves of the devices is fully open, then there must be too great a pressure difference to pass the set quantity of air through all the devices. Accordingly, the excessive pressure applied to the devices can be lowered to a proper level by driving the damper unit in an opening direction, thereby reducing pressure loss between the discharging and charging blowers.
