  • Patent number: 8270670
Abstract: A method for recognizing and tracing a gesture fetches a gesture image by an image sensor. The gesture image is processed for recognizing and tracing, and a corresponding action is performed according to the processed result. The gesture image is pre-processed and then a moved image is detected. The moved image is analyzed to obtain a gesture feature. When the gesture feature is corresponding to a moved gesture, a center coordinate of the moved gesture is detected and outputted to control a cursor. When the gesture feature is corresponding to a command gesture, a relevant action command is outputted. Therefore, the method provides cursor movement and command input by user gesture.

  • Patent number: 8112719
Abstract: A method for controlling a gesture-based remote control system (100) is provided to control a controlled electronic appliance by detecting an image of a user's gesture. A movement area in the image of the user's gesture detected. The user's gesture is judged as an adjusted gesture when the movement of the motion region is continual. The controlled electronic appliance is controlled by a key controlling command based on the adjusted gesture and sent by a wireless transmitter.

  • Patent number: 7643962
Abstract: A method for judging directionality of a housing having two parallel panels by a gravity sensor is disclosed. The method is used for a handheld apparatus to judge which of the panels is upward. The method first obtains a set of component quantity of gravity on three coordinate axes from a three dimensional gravity sensor. When ?0.5 g>gz??1 g and 1 g?gz>0.5 g, a first direction status and a second direction status is acquired, respectively. When 0.5 g?gz??0.5 g, the method further reposes on two parameters, polarity of gz and magnitude of the component quantity on y-axis (gy), to judge. When gz>0 and ?0.5 g>gy??1 g or when gz<0 and 1 g?gy>0.5 g, the judging result is the first direction status. When gz<0 and ?0.5 g>gy?1 g or when gz>0 and 1 g?gy>0.5 g, it is the second one. The rest will be judged to be “don't care”.

  • Patent number: 7403572
Abstract: A method of preventing interference of signals transmitted from electronic input devices to a computer host. An identification is generated for each individual electronic device. A receiving unit is connected to the computer host. The identification frequencies are pre-stored in the receiving unit. The receiving unit performs scanning of signals transmitted from the electronic devices with a scanning cycle. The receiving unit switches between a plurality of detection sequences within each scanning cycle. When signals are transmitted from the electronic devices, the receiving unit receives the signals within the detection sequences corresponding to the electronic devices that transmitting the signals. The identification frequencies carried by the signals are compared to the pre-stored identification frequencies to ensure the signals being received at respective frequency channels.

  • Patent number: 7337015
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for controlling a digital electronic product, using a control signal transmitter and a signal receiver combined with a gate system for controlling a digital home appliance, such that a system activation/inactivation control mechanism is established. The on/off status of the gate system is remotely controlled by the control signal transmitter. In the process of switching off the gate system, a basic input/output system (BIOS) for executing switching on/off is used to detect whether the external connecting port is connected to a signal receiver. When the system is in the off status, the electric connection to the signal receiver is maintained, such that the activation control signal from the control signal transmitter can be received any time. Thereby, the signal status of the signal receiver can be changed to automatically switch on the gate system, and the control signal transmitter can thus remotely control operation of the digital home appliance.

  • Publication number: 20040032392
Abstract: A mouse pen device having remote-control function comprises an optical detection unit, a control unit, an operation unit, and a wireless emission unit. The optical detection unit is used to emit light and receive the reflected light signal so as to detect the motion of the mouse. Whether the control unit operates in the mouse mode or the remote-controller mode is based on the intensity of the reflected light signal. The operation unit provides corresponding key definitions of mouse and remote controller. The wireless emission unit is used to emit the signal processed by the control unit. Thereby, an operational mode of mouse is achieved when the mouse pen is pressed close to the desk in use, while an operational mode of remote controller is achieved when the mouse pen stands off the desk in use.
