Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for dynamically and securely establishing a tunnel for a mobile device. In the preferred embodiments, the system and method operate to dynamically assign one or more tunnel endpoint addresses to a client which is not on the same IP-link as an authentication agent depending on an authentication result based on using an authentication protocol source port number in order to address communications.

Abstract: A network-on-chip router which includes an input buffer, an input controller connected to said input buffer, an arbiter connected to said input controller, a crossbar connected to said arbiter and said input buffer, and an output buffer connected to said crossbar. The network-on-chip router minimizes propagation time of data through the router by ensuring that the propagation delay of data through an input buffer is less than the combined propagation delay of data through an input controller and arbiter.

Abstract: Unique temporary MAC addresses are calculated by mobile devices connected to wireless networks, using access point advertising information in combination with the permanent MAC address of the mobile device. The mobile devices use a hash function to construct a bit sequence from which a temporary MAC address can be extracted. The MAC address is unique over the entire region in which the mobile device can operate, without necessity of any coordination or negotiation between various access points of the region.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention disclose a memory architecture for optimizing memory performance and size. Memory optimization is realized by configuring the memory to a particular logic state; that is, restricting memory data storage to either logic “0” or “1.” The opposite logic state, “1” or “0,” can be available through initialization and, therefore, may be presumed. Accordingly, the presumed, initialized logic state is available unless the configured logic state in memory changes the initialized data during memory access. Memory size reduction is realized by restricting physical memory to contain only cells that store data. Memory size can be further reduced by eliminating redundant data rows and columns. By reducing memory size, processing speed can be enhanced and power consumption reduced relative to conventional memory structures.

Abstract: The present invention, among other things, obviates the effects of an attack on a wireless network through appropriate isolation and recovery. An aspect of the present invention can include a system and method of isolating a victim of malicious behavior in a wireless access network, and in particular WLAN networks. By having software on the victim's device, the system provides the capability of recovering the victim from the effects of the intruder, and prevents the victim from being affected by subsequent attacks by the intruder. The preferred embodiments include two key components: a local monitor and a global monitor.

Abstract: A system and method are provided by which a network operator is able to detect fraudulent use of a subscriber's terminal, regardless of whether or not the subscriber is aware of the fraudulent use of her terminal. Detecting unauthorized terminal use in a wireless network includes recording a history of terminal location and registration patterns, analyzing the recorded history of location and registration patterns of the terminal, monitoring current location and registration patterns of the terminal, and requesting clarification when a deviation between said statistical analysis of the location and registration patterns of said terminal and said current location and registration patterns of said terminal is detected.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the handing off without packet loss, from a mobile device traveling from a current point of attachment to a new point of attachment, by providing a copy and forward module in association with the current point of attachment. The copy and forward module copies and stores packets that are being transmitted to a mobile node while the mobile node is in transition from the current point of attachment to the new point of attachment. The copy and forward module maintains a list of addresses as the last known contact addresses of the mobile node, and the mobile node's initial copy request contains an initial contact address of the mobile node. Subsequent copy requests are used to add or delete addresses to the list, and carry a per-address flag to indicate whether the address is to be added or deleted from the list.

Abstract: In some embodiments, a system and method for substantially real-time comparison of quality of interfaces by mobile devices over heterogeneous networks is disclosed. The method can be performed using a dynamic and rapid comparison by distributed hosts, using a minimal number of injected network packets, using minimal path quality metrics, which path quality metrics are independent of how a Qol is measured, and in a manner suitable for both wireline and wireless networks.

Abstract: A multivalued memory device which includes a first multivalued memory transistor and a second multivalued memory transistor, wherein each transistor has a channel made from at least one carbon nanotube or nanowire, wherein data is stored by varying the number of carbon nanotubes or nanowires used in the channel, wherein the channel is the at least one carbon nanotube or nanowire which allows current to flow through it.
Abstract: Data packets are transmitted from a first access network to a first interface of a multiple interface device (MID), and identical data packets are transmitted concurrently from a second access network to a second interface of the MID. Some of the data packets that are transmitted to the MID from the first access network are not received by the first interface. The MID inspects identifiers of data packets from the first and second interfaces in order to send to the application a stream including all of the data packets. For example, the MID sends to the application the data packets from the first interface, buffers the data packets from the second interface, and sends data packets from the buffer to the application upon detecting that data packets in the buffer were transmitted to the first interface but not received by the first interface.

Abstract: In some illustrative embodiments, an IP-layer based network selection and multihoming method is provided that enables a flexible and secure dynamic selection of one or more serving networks for use by a client node. The method is independent of any link-layer technology. A serving network can be an ISP network, a NAP network exchange facility, a VLAN, or the like. Network information is advertised to a client node, the client node is authenticated and authorized for use of an access router, and a secure tunnel is established between the client node and the access router. The method can be implemented by using standard protocols, and can work over any existing or future link-layer technologies that are able to carry IP datagrams, without any modification.
