  • Patent number: 4719762
Abstract: An automatic ice making apparatus for freezing ice making water into ice having the shape of a cube or the like and storing the ice in an ice bank, in which the quantity of the ice stored in the ice bank is detected by a stored ice detecting device, and when the stored ice quantity is small or zero, the ice making operation is continued, while when the stored ice quantity corresponds to a predetermined quantity, the ice making operation is stopped. A stored ice detecting arm is provided replaceably through a joint member in order to attain an easy setting of the above stored ice quantity, that is, an easy adjustment of a detection level for the ice bank.

  • Patent number: 4653464
Abstract: A portable heating unit has a heating chamber which is disposed within a housing so substantially all of the exterior thereof is displaced inwardly from that housing to define an air space. Air passing through that air space absorbs heat from the exterior of that heating chamber and also absorbs, and carries away, heat radiated from that exterior. That heating chamber is secured to that housing by mountings of small cross sections, which limit the amount of heat that can be conducted from that heating chamber to that housing. In addition, a baffle is interposed between the heating element and housing of the portable unit to reduce the amount of heat passing to that housing.

  • Patent number: 4565121
Abstract: An apparatus for preparing infusions such as coffee in different forms includes a sealed container in which water is heated so that it can be used either as hot water or steam, a water tank and a heating element for heating the contents of the container. Water in the tank can flow into the container through a conduit containing a check valve. Four conduits have outlets at the top of the container. One of them is connected to an infuser and is adapted to transport hot water. Another conduit is adapted to transport steam which may be used for preparing a cappuccino-like drink or for preheating a receptacle. The other two conduits are for removing high pressure steam from inside the container, one of them having an outlet near the bottom of a subtank which is built as a part of the water tank.

  • Patent number: 4488536
Abstract: A warm air blowing heater includes combustion equipment for burning fuel, and an air duct provided at a position away from a portion directly above the combustion equipment for blowing air from the heater into the room. The combustion equipment includes a burner chimney provided above a burner, and a reflecting plate is provided behind this burner chimney. The radiation heat of the combustion equipment is radiated directly and is also reflected on the reflecting plate to heat the room. The air duct does not disturb the rise of the combustion exhaust gas of the combustion equipment to form a smooth rising exhaust gas stream. When the air is blown from the air duct toward the front of the heater, the high temperature air in the upper portion of the heater is sucked. This high temperature air is mixed with the air blown from the air duct to allow the heater to blow warm air into the room. The blower motor may suck the air in the room and supply it to the air duct.

  • Patent number: 4486170
Abstract: In a liquid fuel combustion apparatus, the upper end of a wick is ready to be ignited when it projects upward from a pan portion, and is extinguished when it is withdrawn downward from the pan portion. The wick moves up and down as a first operating lever swings around an operating shaft. If the first operating lever is lowered, a retaining lever is raised by a bent strip. When the wick is in a position for high-temperature combustion, a retaining portion of the retaining lever engages a receiving portion of an interlocking plate. When the first operating lever is lowered, its engaging pin engages an engaging slit of an adjusting lever. If a knob of a thermal power control plate is moved up and down along a slot, the adjusting lever swings around a support pin, and the first operating lever swings slightly through the engaging pin and the engaging slit. Thus, the wick is moved up and down in a combustion region for adjustment of thermal power.

  • Patent number: 4483313
Abstract: A reflection type heater comprising a box-shaped housing having a front face, with a front opening, and a top face. A burner and a burner chimney are contained in the housing. A reflecting plate is provided behind the burner chimney to reflect radiant heat from the burner chimney toward the front face of the housing. A top plate is laid on the top face of the housing. The top plate includes a tray located in that region of the top face which is enveloped by the reflecting plate, and a roof plate located in the remaining region of the top face of the housing. A guard in the form of an endless belt with its surface vertical extends along the edge of the tray.

  • Patent number: 4437832
Abstract: The subject lamp wick equipment for a combustion apparatus comprises a cylindrical lamp wick, cylindrical lamp wick holder and cylindrical auxiliary lamp wick holder. The peripheral wall of the lamp wick is provided with openings. The auxiliary lamp wick holder is fitted around the lamp wick, and comprises engagement holes formed at that spots of the peripheral wall of the auxiliary lamp wick holder which face the openings. The cylindrical lamp wick holder is fitted around the cylindrical auxiliary lamp wick holder. The engagement pawls of the lamp wick holder are so elastically urged as to project thereinto. When the lamp wick is fitted into the auxiliary lamp wick holder, which in turn is fitted into the lamp wick holder, then the engagement pawls of the lamp wick holder project into the engagement holes of the auxiliary lamp wick holder and the openings of the lamp wick, thereby preventing the lengthwise relative movement of the lamp wick and lamp wick holder.
