Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes a scanner configured to read an image formed on a sheet along a reading direction and generate image data thereof, and a processor. The processor is configured to select a first region of the generated image data into which a first image indicating the reading direction is to be combined, set a pixel value of the first image in accordance with a pixel value of a pixel around the first region, and combine the first image having the determined pixel value into the first region of the image data and output the combined image data.
Abstract: According to an embodiment, an image forming apparatus includes a sheet conveyance unit that is configured to transport a print medium along a conveyance path. An antenna is configured to emit radio waves towards a predetermined portion of the conveyance path. A controller is configured to control the antenna to emit the radio waves towards the predetermined portion with a polarization direction set according to a type of the print medium being transported by the sheet conveyance unit. The print medium may have, for example, one or more wireless tags thereon or therein.
Abstract: In accordance with an embodiment, an image reading apparatus sets a scan speed corresponding to an operating speed input by the operation panel. The image reading apparatus executes a scan job at the set scan speed. In addition, the image reading apparatus updates a scan counter in accordance with the number of pages of an image read at the set scan speed.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit, a film-shaped cylindrical body, a heating body unit, a first member, and a control unit. The image forming unit forms an image on a sheet. The cylindrical body has a sheet-passing region coming into contact with the sheet to fix the image to the sheet moving in a first direction. The cylindrical body is broader than the sheet-passing region in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction. The heating body unit includes a heating body and comes into contact with a first surface inside the cylindrical body. The first member is disposed on a second surface opposite to the first surface of the heating body. The first member has an outer end disposed outside an outer end of the sheet-passing region in the second direction. Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a wireless tag communication device to write data to, and read data from, a wireless tag attached to a sheet. An image forming device in the apparatus is configured to form an image on the sheet. A controller in the apparatus is configured to determine whether a writing of data to a wireless tag was successful based on a notification from the wireless tag communication device and generate investigation support information if the writing was not successful and control the image forming device to form an investigation support image corresponding to the investigation support information if the writing was not successful.
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a display device, an input device, a storage, and a communication circuit. The display device is configured to display at least one image for display. The input device is configured to detect a user's selection of an image for display in the at least one image for display and to detect an input, to a drawing region of the display device, of a drawing by a user indicating an image quality abnormality with respect to a target image corresponding to the selected image for display. The storage is configured to store drawing information based on the input of the drawing via the input device and to store estimation abnormality information related to the drawing information. The communication circuit is configured to output the drawing information, which can be used for servicing the image forming apparatus, to a server.

Abstract: A fixing unit or device that can be used in an image forming apparatus includes a first heater element that is formed of a material that increases in electrical resistance with increases in temperature. A controller of the fixing unit is configured to vary a duty ratio of electric power applied to the first heater element during a start-up operation in which the temperature of the first heater element is raised to a target operating temperature. By varying the duty ratio during the start-up operation, changes in the resistance of the first heater element with the heating can be compensated. For example, the duty ratio can be increased during the course of the start-up to achieve the target operating temperature faster.
Abstract: A flying drone for shelf label checking includes a flying mechanism, a camera, and a camera interface configured to transmit and receive data to and from the camera. A flight control interface is configured to transmit and receive data to and from the flying mechanism. A processor is configured to acquire a first image of an object from a first distance with the camera, then extract an object region for the object from the first image. The processor then sets a flight path based on the object region and controls the flying mechanism to fly the camera along the flight path to a second distance that is closer to the object than the first distance. A second image of the object is then acquired from the second distance with the camera.
Abstract: A conductive sheet that is configured to be stacked between a sheet tray of an image forming device and a sheet. The conductive sheet includes a base layer and a regulator. The base layer comprises a conductive material. The base layer is configured to be stacked between the sheet tray and the sheet so that the conductive material overlaps with a wireless tag of the sheet. The regulator is configured to regulate conveyance of the conductive sheet by the image forming device when the conductive sheet is stacked between the sheet tray and the sheet so that the conductive material overlaps with the wireless tag of the sheet.

Abstract: According to an embodiment, a power transmission device performs power transmission without contact with a power reception device. A control circuit of the power transmission device obtains, as a reference value, a standby current in a standby state in which the power transmission to the power reception device is not performed. The control circuit sets, as a foreign matter detection threshold, a value obtained by adding a constant value to the reference value or a value obtained by adding a constant ratio to the reference value. Further, in the standby state, when the current value input to the power transmission circuit and detected by the current detection circuit is equal to or larger than the threshold, the control circuit determines that there is a foreign matter on the power transmission coil.
Abstract: According to one embodiment, an office device includes a communication unit to wirelessly communicate with a wireless device using a short-range wireless communication standard. A processor of the office device is configured to periodically search for wireless devices within a communication range of the communication unit, acquire identification information from each wireless device detected in the search for wireless devices, output search data including the identification information to a server. In some examples, the office device may be used as a monitoring sensor or the like to provide information for control of another apparatus.

The first side guide can rotate around a rotation shaft intersecting the mounting surface in a direction in which the first side guide approaches and separates from the second side guide.

Further, the method comprises scanning each of the plurality of papers comprising one or more user inputs (211) and storing scanned content (213) in a Document Management System, DMS, (105) associated with the MFP (103), wherein the one or more user inputs (211) are provided on the plurality of papers by the users (101), using an erasable ink material. Finally, the method comprises erasing the erasable ink on each of the plurality of papers upon storing the scanned content (213) in the DMS (105) for reusing the plurality of papers.
