Patents Assigned to TOSO Kabushiki Kaisha
  • Patent number: 4819708
Abstract: A manually and automatically operable curtain is provided with an electric motor, a planetary gearing of which the sun gear is fixed to the output shaft of the motor, a driven gear engageable with the planet gear of the planetary gearing, a cord pulley fixed to the driven gear for drawing the curtain, and an electric control system including a motor-reversing device. The rotation of the motor is transmitted to the cord pulley through the intermediary of the planet gear when the motor turns. Responsive to a signal to stop the motor, the motor-reversing device reverses the motor for a very small time so as to disengage the planet gear from the driven gear. Thus, the curtain is easily operated by hand without receiving the rotational resistance of the motor.

  • Patent number: 4525893
Abstract: A curtain runner suited for use with a curtain box comprising a body containing a top wall, side walls, and a bottom wall, a sleeve fitted in a vertical bore of the bottom wall, and a rod fitted in the center hole of the sleeve. The sleeve is formed with top and bottom flanges which are larger than the vertical bore. The walls form a hollow space or chamber which is longer than the sleeve and has an upper portion which is wider than the lower portion, the width of which is slightly larger than the diameter of the top flange. The rod is formed with at least one knob at the top end thereof and a curtain-joint at the bottom end thereof. The center hole has the top portion smaller than the knob and another portion larger than the knob. The sleeve is formed with a plurality of upper and lower radial splits for expanding the top portion wider than the knob and contracting the bottom flange smaller than the vertical bore.

  • Patent number: 4513805
Abstract: In roller blinds of the type having a spring-motor interposed between a fixed shaft and a tube to wind up a screen on the tube, a decelerator comprising a one-way clutch mounted on the fixed shaft, an epicyclic gearing having a sun gear, planet gears rotatably supported by the one-way clutch, and a ring gear coaxially secured to the inside of the tube, and a centrifugal brake having a brake drum secured to the inside of the tube, a rotary shaft directly connected to the sun gear, and centrifugally expansible brake shoes mounted on the rotary shaft for frictional engagement with the brake drum. The one way clutch permits the planet gears to rotate about the sun gear together with the tube when the screen is payed out. But, it prevents the planet gears from rotating about the sun gear when the screen is wound up by the spring-motor, resulting in that the sun gear or rotatary shaft rotates more rapidly in the direction opposite to the tube to force the brake shoes against the brake drum.

  • Patent number: 4498517
Abstract: A braking device for use in a spring-motor type roller blind comprising cam and brake means interposed between a rotatable tube and a fixed shaft in substitution for a centrifugal clutch. The means has a brake drum mounted on the fixed shaft, a coil spring brake mounted on the brake drum, a cam sleeve mounted on the brake drum and formed with a Y-shaped cam groove, the coil spring brake having one end fixed to the cam sleeve and the other end disposed under the bottom part of the Y-shaped cam groove, and a cam casing integrally mounted in the tube and provided with a cam pin for engagement with the cam groove. The cam pin relatively moves along the cam groove and pushes either of the opposite ends to loosen the coil spring brake when the screen is drawn and when it is released after drawn from a position except the uppermost position and fasten the same on the brake drum when it is released after drawn from the uppermost position.

  • Patent number: 4487245
Abstract: A torque-adjusting device for twisting and untwisting a spring-motor built in a roller assembly is equipped with an easily operatable handle ring. The device includes a brake drum secured to a mounting bracket, a coil spring fitted on the brake drum, an intermediate disk disposed between the coil spring and the handle ring. The intermediate disk is integrally coupled with a stator to which one end of the spring-motor is fixed. The handle ring has an inner tongue inserted between the opposite projecting ends of the coil spring in a slit in the periphery of the disk with the result that the coil spring permits a rotational transmission from the handle ring to the stator but suppresses the counter transmission.

  • Patent number: 4424851
Abstract: A screen-operating device for use in a roller blind having a braking mechanism consisting a brake-drum secured to a bracket, a coil spring fitted on the brake-drum, a disk loosely mounted on the coil spring and integrally coupled with a screen-roll on which a screen is wound, and a cord-pulley mounted on the disk. The coil spring has their both ends inserted in an opening in the disk and the cord-pulley has its inner tung inserted between the both ends in the opening. Torque from the cord-pulley side acts on either of the both ends to loosen the coil spring and then rotates the screen-roll to raise and lower the screen. But, any torque from the screen side acts on the end to fasten the coil spring on the brake-drum and is immediately braked.

  • Patent number: 4407350
Abstract: A weight-case of a synthetic resin material for containing a weight of a metallic plate together with the bottom part of a slat-cloth has as one body a top guide for guiding the slat-cloth to turn about and let in the weight-case, a pair of L-shaped legs for preventing the slat-cloth from being dragged on the floor, and a pair of T-shaped pins for coupling engagement with couplers secured to a kinitted linking cord. Each coupler has a C-shaped gripper for removably fitting engagement with the T-shaped pin and a W-shaped hook for anchoring engagement with one of serially knitted eyelets in the linking cord. The C-shaped gripper is advantageously separable from the T-shaped pin to protect the linking elements against damage when the cord is accidentally trodden or forcibly drawn in use.

  • Patent number: 4399857
Abstract: A roller assembly fitting device for selectively locking the retraction of the pivot, which is inserted in a bore in a mounting bracket to support the roller assembly in both brackets. The device has a roller-end sleeve fixed to the roller assembly, a guide sleeve rotatably mounted in the roller-end sleeve, a pivot retractably mounted in the guide sleeve, and a coil spring interposed between the guide sleeve and the pivot to bias them in opposite directions. The guide sleeve has its radial projection for selectively fitting engagement with axial and peripheral grooves formed in the outer periphery of the pivot. The pivot is retractable when the guide sleeve is in the first position in which the projection is in the axial groove but locked when the guide sleeve is in the second position in which the projection is in the peripheral groove.
