Patents Assigned to Total Catcher Offshore AS
  • Patent number: 7712406
Abstract: A method is described for detonation of a blasting charge in a fluid environment and which is placed inside a hollow body, such as in an ignition pellet. The method is characterised in that an ignition pellet is used, which is arranged to be deformed under the influence of a number of alterations or pulsations between high and low pressure in the surrounding fluid environment, with the detonation triggering unit inside the body being activated at the subsequent contact with the fluid environment as a consequence of the pellet being deformed. In rupturing, external fluid at overpressure is released into the cylinder and drives a firing pin against a detonating cartridge. A device for an ignition pellet is also described.

  • Patent number: 6942035
Abstract: A method for the retrieval of an object from a well (16) with a tool (30) is described, in which the object, by lowering of the tool (30), is directed into a lower inlet section (40) to a hollow holding area (46) in the tool (30). The method is characterized in that a tool (30) is applied which comprises an inlet section (40) with a barbed section (56), which lets the object pass into the holding area (46), but which prevents the object (22) from being led out of the holding area. A tool that can be used to carry out the method is also described, as well as an application.

  • Patent number: 6758267
Abstract: There is referred to a process for retrieving equipment (70, 72, 90) which is stuck, from a bore hole, where the equipment is connected to a tool and is brought to the surface, and the method is characterised in that a tool is lowered in the bore hole, such as mounted to the lower end of a string or the like, said tool comprising a stationary grip part (14, 44) which is arranged substantially enclosingly about the equipment residue (70, 72, 90) between its outer wall and the wall of the bore hole, after which a central axially movable grip part (16) of the tool is caused to be forced downwards for fixing the equipment residue against the stationary grip part. There is also disclosed a device for accomplishing the method.
