  • Patent number: 5764876
Abstract: A method and device for detecting a cyclic code which detects an n-bit cyclic code or shortened cyclic code based on a degree-m generating polynomial or code with a predetermined bit pattern added to the cyclic code or shortened cyclic code in the bit sequence of a signal containing those codes by utilizing the principle that the remainder of division of those codes by the generating polynomial is zero or the added bit pattern. The method divides serially input receive data by the generating polynomial successively, and removes the remainder of division of X.sup.n by the generating polynomial from the remainder of the division of the bits up to the current bit if the nth bit before the current bit is 1 for each of the nth bit from the first bit and subsequent bits of the receive data.

  • Patent number: 5615308
Abstract: In a production system in which a plurality of production rules are partitioned into a plurality of clusters for processing to effect cluster control, control expression elements, each describing an instruction for specifying a cluster to be invoked next for execution or an instruction for other flow control, are arranged in the order of execution to provide a control expression part separate from the clusters for processing. An instruction for a return to the control expression part is described in an action part of an appropriate production rule in a cluster, in place of the cluster specifying instruction, so that sequential invocation of clusters can be performed following the instructions described in the control expression part, thereby making it unnecessary to give a description for specifying the name of a cluster to be invoked next for execution in the action part of each production rule.

  • Patent number: 5458158
Abstract: A lead cutting apparatus for cutting the leads or pins of electric and electronic devices into a predetermined length in the manufacturing process including inclined pressing surface(s) and cutting edge(s) for cutting the leads, which are covered with an anticorrosive coat, at a cutting position. The inclined pressing surface(s) is at an appropriate angle relative to the length of the leads and presses, between the pressing surface and an opposite inclined or non-inclined pressing surface, the leads near the cutting positions, thus cutting the leads into a shape that becomes gradually thinner to a very small thickness. The cut ends of the leads are covered with the anticorrosive coat and thus prevented from rusting without requiring any anticorrosive treatment. Accordingly, the manufacturing cost of the electric and electrical devices can be reduced greatly.

  • Patent number: 5398931
Abstract: Disclosed is an improved automated dispensing apparatus for flat paper object, such as ATM (Automated Teller Machines) or CD (Cash Dispensers), which can enhance the working efficiency and the service for customers. According to this apparatus, inner cassette 5 can be drawn out together with intermediate portion pushing member 12 leaving outer cassette 4 at a fixed position in the dispenser main body. While intermediate portion pushing member 12 is filled with supplementary sheet papers, the sheet papers 8 still remaining in outer cassette 4 are kept to be pushed by end portion pushing members 11a, 11b. Thereafter, when inner cassette 5 is returned into outer cassette 4, both the end portion pushing members 11a, 11b and the intermediate portion pushing member 12 are returned to the initial state for dispensing a new pile of sheet papers 8 including the supplementary ones. During that supplementation, the sheet paper dispensing operation by this apparatus can be continued without any interruption.

  • Patent number: 5390345
Abstract: A signal which results from cross modulation of two or more nearby received waves contained in the output of a high-frequency amplifier or mixer of a radio receiver, for example, a low-frequency signal corresponding to a channel separation frequency is extracted. The gain of the high-frequency amplifier or attenuation of a variable attenuator provided in the preceding stage of the amplifier is controlled in accordance with the level of the low-frequency signal. Alternatively, the gain of the high-frequency amplifier or attenuation of the variable attenuator is controlled in accordance with the level of the low-frequency signal when it is equal to or larger than a predetermined value. This permits normal reception of a desired wave, even if the signal receiving level is high.
