Abstract: An airbag is provided with a vent hole and a patch closing the vent hole. The airbag has a conically-shaped protrusion with the front narrowed when inflation is finished. The vent hole and patch are at the vehicle body side wall of the protrusion. The airbag has the reaction force-receiving contact portion that is partially recessed toward an occupant by receiving a reaction force substantially opposite to the approach direction of the occupant from the reaction force-applying support portion of the vehicle body structure when the occupant is cushioned, at the vehicle body side wall of the protrusion. The patch is positioned where the vent hole can keep closed when the airbag finishes inflating. The patch is not pressed against the reaction force-applying support portion but is spaced from the circumferential edge portion of the vent hole that moves when the reaction force-receiving contact portion is recessed.

  • Publication number: 20090045607
Abstract: The airbag apparatus is provided with a retainer that includes a hold-down portion for attachment of a periphery of a gas inlet of an airbag to the case, a cover wall surrounding an inflator body, deflectors and catches. The cover wall includes a plurality of outlet ports for releasing inflation gas exited discharge ports of the inflator body radially. The deflectors deflect the inflation gas exited the outlet ports in a range of angle from a direction orthogonal to an axis of the inflator body to a downward direction extending toward the hold-down portion. The catches capture residual particles contained in the inflation gas when the gas deflected by the deflectors hit them.

  • Publication number: 20090015908
Abstract: The infrared reflective device includes infrared reflective members which reflect infrared rays. The infrared reflective members include colloidal particles arranged at regular spacing, and a filler material intervening in the spaces between the colloidal particles. The difference between the refractive index of the colloidal particles and the refractive index of the filler material is set so as to be 0.05 or less in the visible light region and 0.1 or above in the infrared region, whereby visible light is transmitted while infrared rays are reflected.

  • Publication number: 20080284315
Abstract: A light emitting device includes a light emitting element, a substrate with a flat mounting surface for mounting the light emitting element thereon, a sealing part for the light emitting element on the mounting surface of the substrate. The sealing part is formed of glass including a phosphor to be excited by light emitted from the light emitting element to radiate a wavelength conversion light. The sealing part is shaped like a rectangular solid wherein a lateral length is defined as a distance between a center of a bottom surface of the sealing part bonded to the mounting surface and a side face perpendicular to the mounting surface, a vertical length is defined as a distance between the mounting surface and a top surface of the sealing part, and at least one of the lateral length is longer than the vertical length. The device further includes a transparent member formed on the top surface of the sealing part. The transparent member includes the phosphor at a concentration higher than the sealing part.

  • Patent number: 6745914
Abstract: A fuel cap 10 maintains high sealing even when subjected to external force; is easy to operate; and requires minimal space for accommodation. The cap device comprises a casing body 20 for closing the filler opening FNb in a sealed condition, a cover 40, a handle 45, a clutch mechanism 60 and a torque transmission mechanism 80. By upraising the handle to the handling position and applying rotational torque, rotational torque is transmitted to the casing body 20 via the clutch mechanism 60 and the torque transmission mechanism 80, closing the filler opening FNb. The handle 45 lowers back to the retracted position when released, whereupon the clutch mechanism 60 assumes non-transmission mode wherein the cover 40 and the handle 45 rotate freely if subjected to external force such as in a collision.

  • Publication number: 20030091834
Abstract: A coated plastic molding having a final coating on a molding body formed of plastic material and having elastic modulus in tension of from about 10 to about 2,000 MPa. The coated plastic molding has such a relationship that a ratio E′/E is 0.5 or more when the elastic modulus in tension of the molding body is E and the elastic modulus in tension of the final coating is E′.

  • Publication number: 20020024226
Abstract: An attachment portion is formed of a synthetic resin material integrally with both ends of a grip body formed of a synthetic resin. A pair of concave portions opposed to each other are provided on an outer peripheral surface of a resin layer forming a hollow portion provided through gas injection in an almost central part in longitudinal direction of the grip body, thereby reducing a volume of the hollow portion and increasing a thickness of the resin layer to enhance a rigidity.
