  • Patent number: 6155596
Abstract: A head-protecting air bag apparatus includes an air bag which is adapted to be fixed to a vehicle body so that the air bag extends from a pillar along a roof side rail and one of a front end and a rear end of which is fixed to an inflator. The air bag includes, at an intermediate portion thereof, a plurality of first noninflatable portions which intersect a tension line connecting the front and rear ends when the air bag is expanded, extend in a substantially vertical direction, and are located at a roof side region corresponding to the roof side rail. The air bag also includes a guide portion. The guide portion has a portion corresponding to the pillar and an extended portion extending to a first noninflatable portion of the plurality of first noninflatable portions which is adjacent to the one end.

  • Patent number: 5449217
Abstract: A weather strip for a back window of a truck or the like has an interior hold portion that holds a flange of a window frame, and a tongue sealing portion that covers the outside face of the back panel. The tongue sealing portion has at least one lip portion, which presses against the back panel. The weather strip also includes a blind lip having a tip that is disposed at substantially the same height level as an exterior of the window frame. Furthermore, a drain hole that continues from a base portion of the blind lip to the backside of the tongue sealing portions is provided to drain water, which drips from the window frame.

  • Patent number: 5447749
Abstract: A production method for a glass run of EPDM material with a urethane slip layer and/or a flocked layer on its glass sliding area, whereby a primer layer for a urethane slip layer or a flocked layer can be co-extruded together with a glass run substrate of EPDM material. The primer layer is a polymer blend of NBR 40-80%, EPDM 20-60% and SBR 0-35% by weight, respectively. Solventless urethane coating material is applied on each primer layer to form a urethane coat. Flocking is provided only on flocked layer area. The urethane coat is cured during vulcanization of the glass run substrate, and in this way a urethane slip layer and a flocking layer can be formed.

  • Patent number: 5316275
Abstract: A hydraulic damping device is provided having a rubber elastic body, a rubber film member closing an opening of the rubber elastic body so as to define a closed chamber, and a partition member dividing the closed chamber into two liquid chambers. A restricted liquid passageway interconnects the two liquid chambers. A cylindrical frame member composed of a resin material having a low coefficient of thermal conductivity is joined to the outer peripheral surface of the rubber elastic body. A support member composed of an aluminum alloy is secured to the outer peripheral surface of the frame member and is connected to an engine. When the support member receives a large amount of heat from the engine, the rubber elastic body is thermally insulated from the support member by virtue of the resin frame member, and accordingly, can be prevented from deteriorating due to the heat of the engine. In addition, by composing the support member of an aluminum alloy, the weight of the device can be reduced.
