Patents Assigned to TOYOTA MOTOR ENGINEERING & MANUFACUTRING NORTH AMERICA
  • Patent number: 10787174
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus for automatically determining and implementing a driving mode from a plurality of driving modes of a vehicle. The system includes a GPS unit configured to detect a geographical location of the vehicle. The system includes a memory configured to store a driving mode map identifying an initial driving mode based on a given geographical location. The system includes an input unit configured to receive a driving mode sensitivity indicating a desired level of driving aggressiveness. The system includes an electronic control unit (ECU). The ECU is configured to determine the driving mode based on the driving mode map, the detected geographical location of the vehicle, and the driving mode sensitivity. The ECU is configured to automatically adjust operation of the vehicle based on the adjusted driving mode by adjusting a suspension, throttle sensitivity, shift points, air conditioning usage, traction control, or stability control.

  • Patent number: 10052764
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus for an automated platform system. The automated platform system includes a docking station and a personal device connected to an automated robot platform. The automated robot platform includes one or more arms and an adjustable platform surface. The automated robot platform includes one or more imaging devices configured to receive imaging feedback and one or more transportation components coupled to the base. The one or more transportation components are configured to move in multiple directions. The automated robot platform includes one or more data processors that are configured to obtain imaging feedback. The one or more data processors are configured to operate the one or more transportation components to move in multiple directions to a first location based on the imaging feedback, and adjust the adjustable platform surface to a first height and a first angle.

  • Publication number: 20110183810
Abstract: An automobile comprising a continuously variable transmission (“CVT”) system including an acceleration input device, a CVT, and a processor. The acceleration input device generates acceleration input data indicating an amount of change in the acceleration input device, and a rate of change in the acceleration input device. The CVT includes a power source and a transmission output system. The power source operates at a transmission input speed, while the transmission output system operates at a transmission output speed. The transmission input speed over the transmission output speed comprises a gear ratio. The processor analyzes the acceleration input data to determine a target gear ratio. The processor can instruct the CVT to change the gear ratio to the target gear ratio at a rate corresponding to the rate of change in the acceleration input device.
