    Abstract: A method of casting including the steps of closing gates with a counter tip after lower and upper molds heated to a predetermined temperature have been clamped, pouring melt into a sleeve in which a plunger tip is lifted a predetermined distance, lowering the plunger tip while displacing the counter tip to a predetermined position to open the gates, which are formed such that the ratio of the volume of products to the cross-sectional area of the gates is 20-40 (i.e. the volume of products/(CM.sup.3) cross-sectional area of gates (CM.sup.2)=20-40), to allow the melt to flow into cavities via the gates by the force of gravity alone with the plunger tip reaching the upper surface of the melt the moment a percentage of the melt placed in the cavities has reached a value between 30 and 70%, and pressure-filling the cavities with the melt by the plunger tip with the melt passing through the gates at 0.4-0.8 m/sec.

    Abstract: A device for atomizing the fuel for an internal-combustion engine comprising a fuel pump, an electromagnetic fuel-injection valve connected to said fuel pump, an air-injection port adjoining the injection port of said electromagnetic fuel-injection valve, an electromagnetic air flow-controlling valve connected to said air-injection port, and an air pump for feeding air to said air flow-controlling valve, wherein said air flow-controlling valve is controlled in such a manner that the injection of air from said air-injection port takes place simultaneously with the injection of fuel from said fuel-injection valve, whereby the air pump and the driving circuit thereof are of a comparatively small size and the amount of power necessary for driving the air pump is of comparatively small.

    Abstract: A device for fastening a first member such as a head rest relative to a second member such as a head rest supporting member in an inclining adjustable manner, including a one-way ratchet and pawl mechanism incorporated between the two relatively rotatable members, wherein the pawl is driven out of engagement with the ratchets when the two relatively rotatable members have been brought to an extreme relative position allowed by one-way sliding engagement of the ratchets and the pawl, and a control member which catches and holds the driven up pawl at the extreme relative rotational position and releases the pawl when the two relatively rotational members have been brought to the other extreme relative rotational position so as to make the pawl again engage the ratchets at the second mentioned relative rotational position.

    Abstract: A variable venturi type carburetor having a suction chamber disposed upstream from the throttle valve, a suction piston having an increased diameter portion in sliding contact with the suction chamber and movable back and forth in the suction chamber, a piston rod of the suction piston being in sliding contact with a guide rod of the suction chamber, and a compression spring interposed between the suction chamber and the suction piston. In this carburetor, the space between the guide rod and the piston rod is filled with air rather than damper oil. Additionally, the outer peripheral surface of a flange formed at the end of the guide rod and the inner peripheral surface of the suction piston cooperate with each other in defining therebetween a pressure transmission delaying clearance means through which a gas damper chamber defined in the suction piston is communicated with a vacuum chamber defined in the suction chamber at the opposite side of the flange to the damper chamber.
