  • Publication number: 20220089506
Abstract: A process for fermenting and recycling food waste that is fully enclosed, eliminating noxious odors, and therefore installable in a wide variety of urban settings at scale. Generally the steps of the process include intake, shredding and grinding, inoculation and acceleration, heterolactic fermentation, separation of solids and liquids, drying and distillation, and post-processing of liquid and solid byproducts. The result of the process includes useful goods such as nutrient-rich soil fertilizer, household cleaning agent, energy in the form of current or hydrogen, and treated water. The process is energy efficient and self-contained, resulting in the processing of food waste within 7 days, thus dramatically reducing the time of traditional fermentation processes to produce desired byproducts.

  • Publication number: 20210104314
Abstract: A mobile computing device has an image capture device configured to scan a quick response code adhered to a medical linen. Further, the mobile computing device has a processor that generates a graphical user interface having a scanning menu, which lists one or more user selectable indicia. Each of the one or more user selectable indicia is selectable prior to the image capture device performing the scan of the quick response code. Furthermore, each of the one or more selectable indicia is associated with a computer-implemented instruction to update a database via a network. The database stores a data structure corresponding to the medical linen. The one or more selectable indicia are selected from the group consisting of: a medical linen installation indicium and a medical linen disposal indicium.

  • Patent number: 10687915
Abstract: A repositionable, lockable support arm assembly for surgical and other tools includes a base arm having a lower end and an upper end, a distal arm having a proximal end and a distal end, and a central joint, typically a rotational joint, directly or indirectly linking the upper end of the base arm to the proximal end of the distal arm. A lower joint, typically a spherical joint, is positioned at the lower end of the base arm, and an upper joint, also typically a spherical joint, is located at the distal end of the distal arm, A locking mechanism is coupled to the base arm at a location above the lower joint and is configured to simultaneously deliver locking forces to the lower joint, to the rotational joint, and to the upper joint. The locking mechanism usually includes a powered, bilateral force generator for actuating the locking mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20170342736
Abstract: An apparatus for supporting and retaining a plurality of parallel spaced apart wall studs comprises a longitudinally extending base having first and second side edges and first and second opposed sidewalls extending generally perpendicular to the base from the first and second side edges, wherein the base and sidewalls together define a trough for receiving and retaining an end portion of the plurality of wall studs. The apparatus further comprises a plurality of clips sized to fit within and extend transversely across the trough, each of the plurality of clips having first and second tabs extending from the base wherein the first and second tabs each define a slot with a corresponding of the first and second sidewalls sized to receive a portion of the wall studs therein.

  • Patent number: 9000915
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method of asset location. Location data is received from a cellular transmitter associated with a selected asset, which location data includes data representative of a cellular receiver with which direct communication with the cellular transmitter is made. The location data is then communicated to a tracking service system, which tracking service system includes a database representative of geographic locations associated with a plurality of cellular receivers. The database is then queried with received location data so as to generate geographic tracking data associated with a location of the cellular receiver, the geographic tracking data including display data adapted to generate a map image including a representative of a location of the selected asset.
