Abstract: The device comprises, inside a case, a tightening cam (7) hinged about an axis (8) such that, unused, it does not engage a belaying rope (2) passing through the case and, when the device is subjected to a set acceleration downwards, it pivots towards the rope (2) to tighten it to the case with self-tightening effect. On the cam (7) is mounted a detecting roller (10) which co-operates with the rope (2) when the cam (7) is unused. A spring actuated (13) friction piece (12), at a certain rotational speed of the roller (10), subjects it to a resisting moment which triggers off the pivoting of the cam (7) in the tightening direction. A lever (15), to which the user is linked, engages in a unidirectional manner the cam (7) to push it in tightening position if the user falls. The device simultaneously triggers off several tightening effects in case of a fall.
Abstract: On the frame of the apparatus are pivoted the upper ends of two lateral levers of which the lower ends are respectively pivoted at the two ends of an intermediate horizontal lever, these levers defining three sides of a deformable parallelogram. Three rollers ar carried on a lever which rollers are adapted for clamping the strap circulating around the periphery of a pulley, while another lever carries a deflector roller which co-acts with the loaded strand of the strap for applying the rollers against the pulley. Besides the deflector roller are mounted two guide rollers which are urged by a spring. The loaded strand is guided between the deflector roller and one guide roller while the other strand, which is clamped between the guide rollers, is driven at a speed identical to the speed of the loaded strand but of opposite direction.
Abstract: A stress gauge force sensing device is provided comprising a circular ring connected to a hub by a sector. The hub bears on a shaft integral with a supporting structure. The end of the tie to which the load is applied passes round the ring then is connected to the supporting strand of this tie by a fastener. The sector, which supports the stress gauge system, is placed, in the axis of the force, along the radius of the ring situated on the same side as the load with respect to the axis of the ring. The stress sensor forms at the same time a coupling member for the tie supporting the load and thus reduces the length which interpositioning of the sensing device occupies in the load line.
Abstract: Each half-case of the apparatus comprises a main half-case of pressed steel sheet provided with two chimneys on which is mounted a reinforcement piece, also of pressed steel sheet, having openings corresponding to the chimneys. The main half-case and the reinforcement piece separately each receive an anti-corrosion coating. Two symmetrical half-cases are finally fitted together along a longitudinal plane.
Abstract: A release mechanism is provided ensuring simultaneous opening of the two clamps of a traction apparatus for freeing the cable which passes therethrough.The release lever is mounted for longitudinal sliding by actuation of the handle while moving the intermediate pin carried by the warping out lever. A pivoting bolt, mounted in a widened end of a longitudinal oblong slit of said lever, prevents the release movement. The release can only be obtained when the user frees said bolt with one hand against the return action of a spring and, with the other hand, operates simultaneously said handle.
Abstract: This electric hoist incorporates a wedging-groove pulley controlling a free-end wire-rope and comprises an epicyclic reducing gear surrounding the motor output shaft and providing a high reduction ratio with a minimum axial length; the gear comprises a sun wheel rigid with the motor shaft, planets meshing with this wheel and also with two internally toothed annuli having different tooth numbers, namely a fixed annulus and a driven annulus rigid with the wedging pulley coaxial with the motor shaft.
Abstract: The hoisting apparatus comprises a device for pressing a roller or a train of rollers against a cable section engaging a driving pulley in order to improve the adherence of the cable to the pulley groove which is caused by the load; this device comprises a linkage fulcrumed at one or more points to the main support of the driving pulley, one end of the linkage carrying the roller or train of rollers while the other end is utilized for anchoring the load to the support.
Abstract: In this cable hoisting apparatus at least two pulleys disposed in a common plane have in the one a semi-circular-sectioned groove and in the other a V-shaped groove section, the first pulley receiving the load and the other pulley being responsive to the tightening mechanism controlled by the load. Thus, the pulley having a semi-circular sectioned groove will not damage the cable and the cable is retained therein by adherence, thus reducing as much the load exerted on the cable section engaging the second pulley, whereby a lesser retaining effort is exerted on this second pulley; when a pressure mechanism is provided for tensioning the cable in proportion to the load, said mechanism is associated with the pulley having the V-shaped groove.
Abstract: This device is associated with a scaffolding suspended from at least two winches and is adapted to automatically control a safety mechanism when the scaffolding is inclined beyond a predetermined limit angle to the horizontal. The scaffolding is pivoted at each end to a stirrup rigid with the safety device which is suspended to the hoisting cable through a link. A push-member rigid with the scaffolding engages, when the scaffolding is inclined, a connecting rod which actuates a lever for clamping the jaws on a safety cable passing through the safety device.
Abstract: The clutch device, adapted to be associated with a traction apparatus provided with a release device comprising two rocking levers, comprises a clutch engaging member associated with one of the rocking levers in order to modify the normal movement of this rocking lever and a clutch control member associated with the other rocking lever and adapted, when actuated, to provide a simultaneous opening of the two clamps of the apparatus.
