Abstract: An authentication server includes a first link connected to an authenticator associated with a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) and a second link connected to a gateway associated with a mobile network such as a GPRS network. The authentication server also includes a mapping system having instructions for receiving one or more first messages from the authenticator, the first messages being of a first type associated with the WLAN but not the mobile network, such as a RADIUS message. The mapping system also includes instructions for generating a first group of one or more call detail records from the received first messages, the call detail records being of a second type associated with the mobile network, and sending the first group of call detail records to the gateway.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to the field of communications systems, and more particularly, to a system and method for extending secure authentication using unique session keys derived from entropy generated by authentication method. In one example, a method for utilizing a public wireless local area network for a client with a smart card includes: creating an one-time password for a client upon a successful authentication; storing the password and identification information of the client; and utilizing the password and the client identity information to authenticate the client in the public wireless local area network.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides an access node for transferring and/or assigning network passwords. The access node includes a first interface for sending and receiving communication of a first type to and from a first node operating in a wireless local area network (WLAN). The access node also includes a second interface for sending and receiving communication of a second type to and from a second node in a mobile network, such as a GSM/GPRS network. The access node further includes a short messaging service (SMS) module for sending and receiving SMS messages to the second node carrying an OTP allocated. The access node also includes a mechanism to verify a precondition before the OTP is sent to the second node.

Abstract: A system for transmitting wireless messages from a Wireless Access Internet Network architecture for providing users a plurality of wireless protocols to access a communications network. The architecture comprises a wireless client for providing an authentication message. The wireless client includes a radio link adaptation layer and a radio interface, and the radio link adaptation layer adapts to a plurality of wireless protocols. The architecture further includes a wireless server in communication with the wireless client. The wireless server includes a charging module, a Home Location Register (HLR) signaling module, a Domain Naming System (DNS)/Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) Remote Authentication Dial-in User Service (RADIUS) module, a radio link adaptation layer, and a radio access point in communication with the radio interface. Additionally, the architecture includes a data network in communication with the wireless server.
