  • Publication number: 20020121429
Abstract: A device for inward and outward transfer of material comprises a conveyor section with a continuous belt for receiving the material at an angle, and an airlock section and a guide section for guiding the continuous belt. The airlock section has a rectangular end area and an acute-angle end area. There is a drive having a driving drum and a back-up roller. The drive is arranged in proximity to the rectangular end area of the airlock section and the back-up roller is displaceable in a direction of the driving drum.

  • Patent number: 6098790
Abstract: A holding system for the backup rollers of a belt conveyor. The system comprises a holding bar secured to the backup roller and a backup lever secured via a joint to the center of the holding bar. The backup lever is pivotable against the driving drum of the conveyor. The backup lever comprises a power arm arranged below a load arm. The power arm is engaged by a draw spindle for adjusting the force of the contract pressure of the backup roller. The roller is comprised of a plurality of roller segments with spacer rings between the segments. The system eliminates the need for adjusting the holder during the operation and allows the rollers to be removed without dismantling the system.

  • Patent number: 5950806
Abstract: A guiding station for preventing the conveyor belt of a belt conveyor from running off sideways from a preset direction and running up against the supporting structure of the conveyor. The guiding station comprises a console secured to a cylindrical element and forming an axis of rotation of the console so that the console is swingable in a plane perpendicular to the plane of the conveyor belt. A pair of guide rollers are supported by the console and are rotatable around their longitudinal axes. The lower strand of the conveyor belt is guided between the guide rollers. A plurality of sensor rollers are rotatably mounted on the guiding station upstream in the running direction of the conveyor belt from the guide rollers and on both sides of the lower strand of the conveyor belt.

  • Patent number: 5743379
Abstract: A feed/discharge insert for transporting goods at an acute angle with respect to a main conveyor belt. The insert includes an endless loop conveyor belt having an upper segment and a lower segment. Two rigid deflection bars are positioned one above the other parallel to the main conveyor belt. The two bare are solid with a polygonal, or preferably hexagonal, cross-sections. The upper and lower segments are guided and deflected about the two rigid bars. The endless loop conveyor belt is looped around a cylindrical drive drum of a belt drive. The endless loop conveyor belt contacts the drive drum about at least 180.degree. of its circumference. An adjustable deflection roller is used to vary the degree of contact between the endless loop conveyor belt and the drive drum. The invention also comprises a central station for limiting the lateral run-off of the conveyor belt.

  • Patent number: 5360102
Abstract: Apparatus for transporting discrete objects or bulk goods from a first station at a first level to a second station at a second level, which may but need not be above or below the first level, has an endless belt conveyor which is trained about pulleys at the two stations and has an upper reach which is braced from below by a table and defines a straight horizontal or a hilly path for the commodities. The marginal portions of the belt, at least in the region of the upper reach, are guided by pairs of idler rollers whose axes are inclined relative to each other. The rollers are mounted in bearing units which, in turn, are adjustably coupled to elongated bases of a frame.

  • Patent number: 5211281
Abstract: A roller conveyor is assembled of several identical modules disposed end to end to define an elongated path for discrete commodities. Each module has a set of parallel idler rollers, an endless flexible belt with an upper reach in contact with the undersides of the rollers of the respective set, an electric motor which drives the belt, and a carrier and pad assembly which biases the upper reach of the belt against the adjacent rollers. The motors can be individually started and arrested in response to signals from photoelectronic detectors which are located above the downstream ends of successive modules and monitor the degree of occupancy of the respective modules.

  • Patent number: 4955466
Abstract: The radially outermost marginal portion of a flat washer-like or disc-shaped belt in a belt conveyor is confined in an arcuate slot of a reinforcing member which has (a) a bead surrounding the peripheral surface of the marginal portion, and (b) two lips each of which extends radially inwardly of the bead and overlies one of the two lateral surfaces of the marginal portion. The lips are fastened to the belt, and the bead has a convex external surface which is guided by pairs of rolling elements at locations radially outwardly of fasteners which secure the lips to the belt. This reduces the likelihood of spreading of the open inner end of the slot and resulting rapid destruction of the reinforcing member.
