  • Patent number: 12595791
Abstract: An assembly connects a pitman arm to a slot in a crank arm of a pumping unit. A pin extends from the pitman arm disposed on a first side of the crank arm. The pin is disposed in the slot of the crank arm and has a distal end exposed on a second side of the crank arm. The distal end defines an external shouldered profile. A clamp is positioned on the distal end of the pin. The clamp has an internal shouldered profile, which is configured to engage the external shouldered profile on the pin. One or more spacers are disposed on the clamp and are configured to adjustably extend from the clamp toward the second side of the crank arm.

  • Patent number: 12590517
Abstract: A system used with a gas lift valve on a tubing string in a borehole includes a mandrel assembly and a tool assembly. The mandrel assembly holds the gas lift valve disposed in communication between a through-bore and a borehole port. The mandrel assembly couples to the tubing string and defines a lock profile, an uphole seal bore profile, and a downhole seal bore profile. The tool assembly is configured to retrievably deploy in the tubing string. The tool assembly has a lock, an uphole seal, an auxiliary tool, and a downhole seal. The lock is releasably engageable with the lock profile, and the uphole and downhole seals are sealably engageable respectively with the seal bore profiles. The auxiliary tool, which can be a jet pump or a venturi device, has an annulus port that communicates with an annular area of the throughbore sealed by the uphole and downhole seals.

  • Patent number: 12511507
Abstract: Identification and tracking of sucker rods, tubulars, and other threaded wellbore components uses a coded indicium or a distinctive marking adjacent threaded areas, such as on the pin ends of the endpieces for the sucker rods or on the counterbore of a tubular coupling. The coded indicium can be applied to a surface of an undercut area located on the pin end between a threaded area and a shoulder of the endpiece. The coded indicium is applied with a non-damaging process, such as laser annealing, laser marking, or another comparable technique. When the endpieces are connected together with a coupling, the coded indicium in the undercut area is covered by the coupling, which threads to the pin ends and engages the shoulder of the endpieces. Secondary tracking can also be achieved using an electronic device, such as an RFID device, disposed on a thread protector for the threaded wellbore component.

  • Patent number: 12472605
Abstract: Systems and methods treat sucker rods in a machine through a multi-step process. Initially, sucker rods are cleaned before being conditioned. The conditioning process involves using a defined type and a defined size of media, applied at a first intensity to the rods using first media accelerators (first wheels with a specific diameter and rotational speed, and/or imparting a certain amount of media). The conditioned surfaces are then shot peened at a higher intensity using second media accelerators, which can have larger diameters, faster rotational speeds, and/or can impart a greater amount of media. Both the conditioning and shot peening processes involve reclaiming the media for reuse.

  • Patent number: 12421807
Abstract: An assembled sucker rod includes a rod body with a rod end and an endpiece containing a receptacle at the rod end. An adhesive is set between the receptacle and rod end, and an insert is positioned through the endpiece's side, contacting the rod end, and resisting compressive loads. The endpiece has apertures for the insert, which has ends and an intermediate portion; the latter contacts the rod end compressively, while the ends contact the endpiece oppositely. The rod end may feature a hole or slot for the insert, or its distal portion may directly abut the insert.

  • Patent number: 12410785
Abstract: An assembly is used to connect an equalizer bar to a walking beam of a reciprocating pump unit. The walking beam has a bearing shaft having cylindrical ends. Brackets attached to the equalizer bar define slots, each having a hooked section and having a base section. The hooked sections are configured to rest against the cylindrical ends of the bearing shaft. The base sections of the slots oppose the hooked sections at a gap from the cylindrical ends of the bearing shaft. Wedges are configured to position in the slots between the bases and the cylindrical ends of the bearing shaft.

  • Patent number: 12345250
Abstract: A horsehead is used on a walking beam of a reciprocating pump unit. The horsehead includes side plates, a face, tabs, and brace plates. The side plates are spaced apart, and the face affixed to front, arced edges of the side plates. The face defines a split therein extending from a bottom end toward a top end, and the tabs are affixed to the face across the split. The face thereby defines two runner surfaces. A fixture at the top end of the face can be used for connection to a bridle of the pump unit. The brace plates are connected in the space between the side plates and are arranged in a lattice structure. Preferably, the brace plates include cutouts to reduce weight.

  • Patent number: 12331737
Abstract: A sucker rod guide is used on a sucker rod within production tubing. The guide includes a sleeve having multiple vanes. The sleeve is designed to fit onto the sucker rod and includes ends, an outer surface, and a particular length and diameter along its axis. The vanes are evenly distributed about the sleeve and protrude outwardly to a defined diameter. Each vane exhibits symmetry along longitudinal and lateral axes, with distinct characteristics. Sidewalls at each end of each vane diverge from one another and extend to a midpoint of symmetry. Angled faces at each end of each vane extend at an angle from the sleeve's surface, and each vane has an external face that has a diamond shape. The guide is configured to reduce turbulence adjacent the sucker rod near the edge of the guide.

  • Patent number: 12110771
Abstract: Used gas lift valves having a used bellows assembly are remanufactured. Separable components are disassembled, and the used bellows assembly is removed from a dome housing by de-brazing the used bellows at a brazed joint from a mating surface of the dome housing. A replacement bellows is then affixed (e.g., arc welded) to the dome housing's mating surface, and a bellows adapter is affixed (e.g., arc welded) to the replacement bellows. The separable components of the used valve are then reassembled to produce a remanufactured gas lift valve. The remanufactured valve has a replacement bellows composed of a nickel-chromium alloy as opposed to a nickel-copper alloy, has the replacement bellows arc-welded to the dome housing as opposed to being brazed thereto, and has the adapter arc-welded to the bellows as opposed to being brazed thereto.

  • Patent number: 10195699
Abstract: The disclosure relates to the treatment of rods made of metal, particularly to the method of reclamation of used standard length rods, such as pump rods already used in the mechanical deep-pumping extraction of oil, as well as to the product made with the help of the mentioned method. The method of remanufacturing of standard length rods includes the reheating of the rod body to a temperature favorable for the plastic treatment of the rod such as plastic deformation of the rod body under pressure. Such methods allow for the reclamation of rods of the desired geometric form and enhancement of the mechanical properties of the remanufactured rod. The technical outcome of the claimed invention consists in the reclamation of rods of the desired geometric form and enhancement of the mechanical properties of the remanufactured rod.
