Patent number: 9579710Abstract: A self-furring welded wire mesh for reinforcing generally planar concrete and stucco structures is formed of a matrix of longitudinally and transversely extending wires disposed about a first common plane and welded together at their intersections. A selected plurality of the longitudinally extending wires each define a plurality of generally V-shaped spacing furrs therein extending generally perpendicular to the first plane with the bottoms of the furrs being disposed in a second plane spaced from the first plane a distance substantially equal to one-half of the predetermined thickness of the concrete panel. The spacing furrs in the selected longitudinally extending wires are located so as to be longitudinally and transversely staggered along the mesh.Type: GrantFiled: October 8, 2015Date of Patent: February 28, 2017Assignee: Tree Island Industries Ltd.Inventors: Stephen F. Ogden, Craig A. Davis

Patent number: 9187901Abstract: A welded wire mesh for reinforcing generally planar concrete and stucco structures. The mesh is formed of a matrix of longitudinal and transverse wires disposed about a first common plane and welded together at their intersections. A selected plurality of the longitudinal wires define a plurality of generally V-shaped spacing furrs therein extending generally perpendicular to the first plane with the bottoms of the furrs being disposed in a second plane spaced from the first plane a distance substantially equal to one-half of the predetermined thickness of the panel. The spacing furrs are positioned so as to be longitudinally and transversely staggered along the mesh and are formed by pushing portions of the selected longitudinal wires perpendicular to the axes of the wires while holding upstream portions thereof in a fixed disposition so as to form the furrs without thinning and weakening the wires along the spacing furrs.Type: GrantFiled: January 14, 2014Date of Patent: November 17, 2015Assignee: TREE ISLAND INDUSTRIES LTD.Inventors: Stephen F. Publication number: 20120247047Abstract: A welded wire mesh for use in securing stucco, plaster or other exterior finishing material to a building wall or other structure wherein the mesh comprises a matrix of longitudinally and transversely extending wires. The wires define intersections where the transversely extending wires are welded to the transversely extending wires and a plurality of deformations are formed in at least a portion of the wires between the intersections. The deformations cooperate with the stucco, plaster or other exterior finishing material to define a mechanical locking keys therebetween. The mesh can be disposed adjacent a flexible backing for providing a water vapor barrier, fire retardant or other desired property to the lath.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 4, 2011Publication date: October 4, 2012Applicant: Tree Island Industries Ltd.Inventor: Stephen F. Patent number: 7380703Abstract: A storage and carrying carton formed of a foldable sheet of material and adapted to be secured in a closed disposition with a flexible closure strap. The sheet of material is configured such that when folded into the carton configuration, it defines an upper flap that cooperates with the closure strap to define a carrying handle. Upon severing the strap to open the carton, the upper end of the carton is configured so as to be selectively folded flat and resealed with a second closure strap or, alternatively, folded so as to define upstanding lateral handles by which the opened carton and its contents can be readily carried.Type: GrantFiled: March 10, 2006Date of Patent: June 3, 2008Assignee: Tree Island Industries Ltd.Inventor: Stephen F.
