  • Patent number: 4651978
Abstract: In a vibration absorber, lower and upper holders are interconnected by an annular elastomeric dampening member and have a throttling disk for dividing the interior space of the absorber into two liquid-filled working chambers, of which the lower chamber is defined by a rubber elastic membrane. The membrane and the throttling disk are loosely inserted in the lower holder and held in position therein by a resilient holding device sealingly urging the membrane and the throttling disk against a sealing face on the lower holder.

  • Patent number: 4608496
Abstract: Strand break detector for monitoring a number of straightened strands extending along a number of predetermined paths, with regard to a broken or missing strand. An optical transmitter with light-receiving means is arranged to supply, at relative motion between strands and transmitter transversely of the strands, a signal for each passing strand. A shield is arranged as a spacer in front of the light-receiving means and forms an inlet for light to the light-receiving means, and a slide surface for guiding the strands engaging the slide surface, past the light inlet at relative movement between the strands and the transmitter.

  • Patent number: 4446192
Abstract: A wear-resistant rubber product adapted to be used as, for example, a lifter in grinding mills, comprises at least two prefabricated parts (11, 12) interconnected with one another by means of a binder layer having a thickness of at least 2 mm and consisting of in situ cast and cured polyurethane. The wear-resistant rubber product is manufactured by placing the prefabricated cured rubber parts (11, 12) at a distance of at least 2 mm from one another and by introducing, preferably injecting a reacting urethane rubber composition with excess isocyanate groups into the gap (13) to cause said prefabricated parts on either side of said gap to be contacted subtantially simultaneously by the said urethane rubber composition.

  • Patent number: 4399765
Abstract: A floating container for receiving and transporting collected oil pollutants has an elongate, hose-shaped body with towing attachments and buoyancy bodies disposed on the outside thereof and serving as rubbing strakes or fenders, and a large filling and discharge opening surrounded by an inflatable buoyancy collar. The discharge opening is sealable by means of a cover and is sufficiently large to allow the introduction of an immersible pump intended for discharging of the contents of the container. The discharge opening is either triangular and has its one apex directed towards the towing attachments, or is oval and has its major axis directed in the longitudinal direction of the hose-shaped body.

  • Patent number: 4289279
Abstract: A mill lining is disclosed, intended for e.g. a primary or autogenous mill in the mining industry. The lining comprises shell plates and lifter bars made from elastomer material and mounted in a mill drum. The lifter bars extend substantially in the axial direction of the mill drum and project into the mill drum beyond the inner surface of the shell plates. At least some of the lifter bars, preferably every second, are designed to act as elastomer springs by having a longitudinal recess or slot in their impact front side facing forwardly in the contemplated direction of rotation of the mill drum. The recess or slot is inside the inner surface of the shell plates and serves as a strain concentrator concentrating the tensile strain of the lifter bars to an area relatively unexposed to sliding abrasion of the material being ground.

  • Patent number: 4278365
Abstract: Method and apparatus for controlling sucking of a material suspendible in air or liquid by means of a suction nozzle connected to a pump through a conduit and having a flow rate or solids concentration sensor connected to said conduit, the suction nozzle being supported via a supporting wire rope or like flexible support by a hoisting device which is carried by a device for moving the hoisting device and the nozzle along at least one horizontal axis at adjustable velocity, while the nozzle is vertically adjustably carried by the hoisting device, wherein the hoisting device for vertically adjusting the nozzle is controlled with a control device by signals from the flow rate or solids concentration sensor in such a way that said flow rate or solids concentration sensor is preset to supply a control signal to the hoisting device for raising or lowering the nozzle to thereby restore the flow rate or solids concentration quantity per unit time in the conduit when the flow rate or solids concentration quantity per

  • Patent number: 4264481
Abstract: Chemical direct reclaiming of rubber by mixing pulverulent scrap rubber having a particle size of at most 1 mm with a reducing agent, an oxidizable iron metal chloride and at least one plasticizer. The mixture is agitated for a short time, in the solid phase in air at a temperature of not more than 100.degree. C., in a powder mixer for direct degradation of double bonds in the rubber. The reducing agent is from 0.2 to 1 weight % of phenyl hydrazine or diphenyl guanidine. The iron metal chloride is admixed in an amount of from 0.1 to 0.4 weight %. The plasticizer shall comprise at least one member from the group tall oil pitch and dipentene, and this plasticizer may be used in mixture with some other plasticizer. The amount of dipentene is at most 5 weight % and is from 0.5 to 5 weight % if the dipentene is used as the only plasticizer or is used in mixture with another plasticizer. The amount of tall oil pitch is at most 17.5 weight % and is from 7 to 17.

  • Patent number: 4260295
Abstract: An injector which is intended for the injection of material under high pressure through bores or other holes in rock or other solid material is provided with an injector pipe, a tubular shell, and injector nozzle and an expansion device which, during the injection operation, seals against the wall of the bore. The injector nozzle is releasable from the end of the injector pipe and is disposed to cooperate with a sleeve included in the expansion device in order to press the sleeve against the wall of the bore and in order, together with the sleeve, to form an expanded unit which, after the injection phase, is released from the injector pipe and remains, in the expanded state, in the bore. The injector nozzle is designed as a non-return valve, in that it has a cupola-like valve portion consisting of elastomer material and bridging the end of the injector pipe.

  • Patent number: 4112958
Abstract: A canopy device, especially for aircraft bridges, adapted to cover between two through-openings which are orientable into alignment with one another and located each in one body the first one of which carries the canopy device and includes the first opening which is generally vertical, and the second body is a craft of varying shape, including the second opening. The canopy device has a front portion which is movable into engagement with the craft to provide a weatherproof passage between the openings. Protective pads are pivotally mounted to the side of the canopy facing the craft and the uppermost pad pivots in forward-downward direction due to gravity, whereupon the next pads will follow successively into engagement with the craft.
