The internal channel of each of the beams communicates with the hollow interior of the plurality of columns for uninterrupted passage of electrical/data conduit therethrough.

    Abstract: A cabinet for a workspace definition system is provided which comprises a housing defined by a rear wall, a pair of side walls, a top wall and a bottom wall interconnected together to form an integral unit surrounding an interior chamber. One of the top wall, the rear wall and the side walls further comprises a port, and a length of electrical/data conduit extends through the port into at least one of the rear wall, the side walls, and the interior chamber of the cabinet. One of the top wall, the rear wall and the side walls can also have an electrical/data receptacle mounted therein and accessible from the outside of the cabinet. The electrical/data conduit is thereby passed into the walls and the interior chamber of the cabinet in a concealed manner to provide operability to components stored within or adjacent to the cabinet.

    Abstract: An improved workspace management system for dividing a space into separate work areas comprises a rigid structural framework formed of rigid rectangular frames rigidly joined together at the edges thereof to form at least one work area. Each of the frames has outer faces on opposite sides thereof and openings on the opposite sides of the frames and a plurality of interchangeable tiles, with each of the tiles having a connector cooperating with the openings on the frames for removably mounting the tiles to the frames for ease of placement on and removal from the frames. The tiles are mounted to the outer faces of the frames to substantially cover both sides of the frames from a bottom portion thereof to a top thereof in juxtaposed parallel relationship.

    Abstract: The present invention comprises a mounting mechanism for releasably mounting a drawer unit under a work surface, wherein the drawer unit comprises a drawer enclosed in a drawer casing. The mounting mechanism comprises an elongated mounting bracket that is mounted transversely on the underside of the work surface. A mating upper drawer casing flange on the drawer casing faces the mounting bracket flange and fits over the mounting bracket flange when the drawer casing is mounted. A releasable retaining means holds the drawer casing flange in overlapping relationship with the mounting bracket flange. Additional drawer units may be releasably mountable on the underside of each drawer unit immediately above it.

    Abstract: An alignment device for vertically aligning adjacent wall panels is adapted to be mounted in the lower corner of a wall panel to engage an identical alignment device and in an adjacent wall panel. The alignment device includes a central, vertical mounting column and a pair of horizontal, spaced and vertically offset alignment ledges extending in front of the lower portion of the mounting column. A horizontal wall panel rear support ledge extends to the rear of the lower portion of the mounting column. The alignment device provides positive vertical alignment with respect to two adjacent wall panels whether such panels are horizontally aligned or positioned angularly with respect to each other about a vertical axis.

    Abstract: A flipper door assembly for use on a cabinet or the like. A generally rectangular door sized to cover the desired cabinet opening is suspended by a rack and pinion suspension mechanism. The rack and pinion suspension mechanism includes a pair of gear racks mounted in the cabinet opening and a corresponding pair of pinion gears located above the gear racks and engageable therewith. The pinion gears are connected to each other by an axle shaft. Hinges are mounted to the upper inside surface of the door with the hinge pivots parallel to the top of the door. The ends of the hinges mounted to the door are flat and the other ends are L-shaped with the outermost end of each hinge being rotatably mounted on the axle shaft.
