Abstract: The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a multilayer biaxially oriented film which comprises at least five layers having the arrangement A/B/C/B/A, the inner layer C being synthesized from an ethylene-vinyl-alcohol copolymer (EVOH layer) and an adhesion promoting layer B made of modified polyolefin being applied on both sides on each surface of the EVOH layer C and a layer A made of a partially crystalline thermoplastic polyolefin being applied to the surfaces of the particular adhesion promoting layers, characterized in that the melts corresponding to the individual layers of the film are coextruded through a sheet die, the multilayer film thus obtained is drawn off on one or more roll(s) for solidification, the film is subsequently stretched in the longitudinal direction and then in the transverse direction using a tenter frame, the EVOH layer C and the adhesion promoting layers B and the layer A are coextruded at the same width, and the tenter hooks of the frame engage all five layers jointly a

Abstract: The invention relates to a coated, coextruded, biaxially stretched polyolefin film, which contains at least one base layer B made of polyolefins and a top layer Z made of polyolefins modified using maleic acid anhydride, characterized in that a coating made of a primer, which forms the primer layer P, is applied to the surface of the top layer Z, and an inorganic coating made of lithium-potassium polysilicates, which forms a polysilicate layer, is applied to the surface of the primer layer P.
Abstract: The invention relates to a metallised, biaxially orientated opaque polypropylene multi-layered film comprising a base layer and a first metallised cover layer and a second sealable cover layer on the opposite side. The first cover layer contains at least 80 wt. % of a propylene ethylene copolymer having an ethylene content of 1.2-<2.8 wt. % and a propylene content of 97.2 98.8 wt. % and a melting point ranging from 145-160° C. and a melting enthalpy of 80-110 J/g. The first cover layer has a thickness of at least 4 ?m and the base layer is vacuolar. Said thick cover layer can also be made of a combination of an intermediate layer and a thin cover layer.
Abstract: The invention relates to metallized, biaxially oriented opaque polypropylene multilayer film comprising at least three layers consisting of a base layer, a first metallized covering layer, and of a second sealable covering layer on the opposite side. The first covering layer contains at least 80% by weight of a propylenelethylene copolymer, which has an ethylene content of 1.2 to <2.8% by weight and a propylene content of 97.2 to 98.8% by weight, a melting point ranging from 145 to 160° C., and a melting enthalpy ranging from 80 to 110 J/g. The first covering layer has a thickness of at least 4 ?m and the base layer contains vacuoles. The thick covering layer can also be formed from a combination consisting of an intermediate layer with a thin covering layer.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for enhancing the fraction of ?-crystal modification in polypropylene by compounding nanocrystalline substances. A ?-fraction of 50–100% is achieved with said method. The compounds are characterized by improved mechanical properties. The nanocrystalline powders can be directly compounded and compatibilized with surface-active substances in the PP matrix for better dispersion.

Abstract: The invention relates to the use of a biaxially oriented microporous film, which contains a propylene polymer and at least one ?-nucleating agent and whose microporosity is produced by converting ?-crystalline polypropylene when drawing the film, in order to label containers during blow molding.
Abstract: The invention relates to a biaxially oriented transparent polypropylene film having a good UV barrier. The film contains, in at least one layer, nanoscalar titanium dioxide. The total content of nanoscalar titanium dioxide in the film ranges from 0.5 to 1.5 % by weight with regard to the total weight of the film.
