Abstract: A system and method for a multi-stage brain-computer interface training using neural networks that reliably and predictably maps a user's thoughts to particular movements or actions in a computer-generated environment. The system comprises two stages: a pre-training stage, wherein specific exercises are generated on screen, and the brain activity is mapped to the exercises using a neural network as the user attempts to complete the exercises, and an in-use stage, wherein an initial mapping profile is loaded, brain activity is mapped to in-use interactions using a neural network, and those in-use mappings are compared to a library of stored mappings using a neural network to select a more accurate mapping for use in a given situation.
Abstract: An emotional enhancement system for music and film that uses audio and video input to select or generate a stimulation pattern which stimulates the user's face using lights and electrical stimulation directed to certain points on the user's face and head which are believed to induce certain emotions. Using the system, a user's emotional experience of the music or film can be enhanced by inducing emotions in the user coordinated with portions of the music or film. In some embodiments, biometric sensors or cameras and facial tracking software may be used to monitor the emotions displayed by a user while listening to music or watching films, and adjust the stimulation accordingly.
Abstract: A system for inducing emotional response through craniofacial stimulation, comprising an emotion enhancement device that selects a stimulation configuration and directs the operation of a plurality of stimulation transducers based on the selected stimulation configuration. In some aspects the emotion enhancement device is configured to be worn on the head of a human user, and in some aspects the stimulation configuration is selected based on input cues from hardware sensors.
