Abstract: A system for automated conversion and delivery of medical images. In an example implementation, a server is configured to retrieve a medical image file including medical data and metadata, in a medical data format, determine an output destination type based on the metadata, identify standardized format specifications based on the determined output destination type from the retrieved metadata, convert the medical data into a format compatible with the identified standardized format, and transmit an output message of the converted medical data to at least a recipient delivery address.

Abstract: A system for communicating images, comprises an imaging device configured to capture and image and generate a digital image file, the imaging device comprising a device identifier; a set of routines configured to label the digital image file, associated account information with the digital image file, associate the device identifier with the digital image file, and communicate the digital image file to a server; a server configured to receive digital image files and process the digital image file according to at least one of a label associated with the digital image file, account information associated with the digital image file, and a device identifier associated with a device that captured the digital image file.

Abstract: A network device and a peripheral device for attachment with a medical imaging device provides for the encryption and conversion of a medical image into a secure and standardized image file format as well as the communication of the encrypted and/or converted image to a secure server on a remote network. The devices may monitor all medical image files generated on the medical imaging device and encrypt and convert selected medical image files for transmission to a remotely connected device on another network, such as a server or a mobile device. An encryption and conversion unit may be incorporated within the hardware and software of a medical imaging device or another network device in order to provide the capability for encrypting a medical image for transmission to a remote network and for converting the medical image to a format that is compatible with a destination device or network.

A data storage system is configured to store medical images, associated metadata, converted medical images, standardized format specifications for destination devices and services, and message templates. A server is coupled to the data storage system and a communication interface. The server is configured to receive a medical image file, comprising medical data and metadata, in a medical data format, determine an output destination type based on the metadata, correlate the output destination type with a standardized format specification, convert the medical data based on the correlated standardized format specification, and assemble and translate an output message that includes the converted medical data based on message templates that correlate with the output destination type.

Abstract: A method for automated conversion and delivery of nondestructive evaluation (NDE) images, comprising: storing a plurality of NDE images, metadata associated with the plurality of NDE images, converted NDE images, a plurality of standardized format specifications for a plurality of destination devices and services, and a plurality of message templates; receiving a NDE image file via a communications interface; determining whether the NDE data includes NDE image data; determining an output destination type; correlating the output destination type with one or more of the plurality of standardized format specifications and with one or more of the plurality of message templates; converting the NDE data format associated with the NDE data based on the standardized format specifications that correlate with the output destination type; and assembling at least one output message that includes the converted NDE data based on the message templates that correlate with the output destination type.
