Abstract: The excess covering material is trimmed from a workpiece using a blade assembly having side by side blade segments with cutting edges aligned with the contour to be cut. A rubber roller applies a longitudinal cutting force to the blade segments in sequential fashion by rolling across the blade segments ends opposite the cutting ends. The blade segments are returned to the noncutting position by a tension wire threaded through a notch in the shaft of each of the blade segments. Cutting pressure is adequate to cut through at least three layers of covering material without scoring the substrate. The rubber roller provides certain resiliency which helps control the cutting pressure.

Abstract: An improved method of molding articles from air-laid webs wherein resin is deposited in a dry process onto cellulose fibers prior to air-laying. Cellulose material and a resin-containing airstream are simultaneously fed into a comminuting means such as a hammer mill. The cellulose particles thereby produced have a coating which adheres to the surface of the cellulose particles. The cellulose particles retain substantially all of the dry resin coating when pneumatically conveyed and air-laid into a web. The fiber web produced with the resin-coated particles is suitable for use in a conventional molding process whereby the web is molded under sufficient heat and pressure into a molded article having a uniform resin distribution resulting in improved strength and improved structural integrity.

Abstract: Disclosed is an elastic exercising device comprising a central elongated portion made of stretchable, flexible resistance material and handles provided at opposite ends of the elongated portion, the handles being connected to the central portion and being formed as loops of the stretchable, flexible resistance material through which a user can insert his hands.
Abstract: An apparatus for manufacturing a metal and plastic lightweight wheel cover. An annular riser supports the wheel cover assembly while several curling rolls roll curl the outermost flange of an outer ornamental member onto a lightweight plastic insert and retaining ring capturing the insert between the outer member and the retaining ring. The roll curling prevents relative rotation between the outer ornamental face and the retaining ring. The curling rolls embed a plurality of jagged edged barbs, formed on the retaining ring, in the insert. The barbs prevent the insert from rotating relative to the retaining ring.
Abstract: An improved soft-feel handle construction including first and second parts each part including a flexible thermoplastic sheath wrapped around a cushioning member. One of the parts includes a thin, flat elongated conductive member positioned between the thermoplastic sheath and the cushion. The first and second handle parts are dielectrically sealed together with each handle part covering the seal so that the seal is formed interiorly of the handle.
