Abstract: A skin compatible component attachable to mammalian skin. The component is formed as a silicone matrix comprising a polyorganosiloxane derived silicone polymer and a moisture control particulate and permeability modifying polymer distributed within the polymer network. The skin compatible component may be utilised as an ostomy wafer or flange to secure an ostomy appliance to the skin and in particular peri-stomal skin.

Abstract: Apparatus and method for the screen printing manufacture of a layer of silicone material. The method and apparatus provide for the deposition of a layer of silicone material having a controllable thickness and shape profile as determined by a template forming part of a screen printing assembly. The present apparatus and method provide a fully controlled automated or semi-automated manufacturing process enabling the deposition of a silicone layer onto a substrate layer serving as a conveyor to transport the silicone layer between different units of the process line including a heating/curing unit, a drying unit and a lamination unit.

Abstract: Skin compatible curing adhesives for adhering devices or appliances to mammalian body are disclosed. Adhesive compositions to protect per-anal, peri-stomal, peri-wound, and peri-fistula skin are disclosed. The skin compatible curable adhesive includes at least one silylated polymer, silylated macromer, silylated monomer, or a combination thereof; at least one curing catalyst; and at least one crosslinking agent.
