Abstract: A glove for catching a baseball, a softball, or the like, which comprises a main body for receiving the user's hand, and a ball catching member disposed between thumb and forefinger portions. Connecting portions are provided in the ball catching member and include a plurality of holes arranged along a longitudinal direction of the user's fingers for receiving a strap which interconnects the thumb and the forefinger portions and the main body. A plurality of holes arranged along the longitudinal direction of the user's fingers are provided in lines between the thumb and forefinger portions for selectively receiving the strap.
Abstract: A webbing for a ball-catching glove having separate protective coverings for the thumb and forefinger between which the webbing is laced comprises a center web of flexible sheet material, a plurality of folding links of flexible sheet material, one of each links being partially fitted through a link hole in the center web and folded and an edge piece comprising flexible sheet material with a plurality of tabs extending therefrom, each tab being fitted into link holes of one of the plurality of folding links and being folded back along a fold line onto the edge piece and stitched thereto.
Abstract: The present invention provides a protective glove for ice hockey wherein the palm area can be quickly removed and replaced. The glove is formed of a back member covering the back of the user's hand and having the exterior surface of the back member covered with padding appropriate to protect the user's hand. A removable front portion is attached to the back member by a zipper which extends around the peripheral edges of the glove. An overlapping wrist closure mechanism with the overlapping flaps provided with Velcro.RTM. hook and loop type fastening devices assists in securing the ice hockey glove to the user.
