Abstract: A rocking chair comprises a base portion and a seat portion and includes a pair of C-springs for coupling the base portion to the seat portion. The C-springs flex to provide the seat portion with a desirably smooth and soft rocking motion while providing excellent structural integrity. Each C-spring has a contoured cross-sectional profile that provides a spring stiffness adapted to provide a smooth and comfortable rocking motion for a wide variety of body weights. The contoured cross-sectional profile also provides a high torsional resistance for minimizing lateral rocking movement of the seat portion.
Abstract: A knock-down table that can be quickly assembled and disassembled for compact storage or shipping. The apparatus includes a table top, a plurality of detachable legs and a ring-shaped brace. Coupling members are provided on the bottom side of the table top and project downwardly therefrom. Sockets are formed in the top ends of the table legs for slidably receiving the coupling members. The ring-shaped brace interconnects each of the legs and maintains the structure in a substantially rigid configuration.

Abstract: A segment and frame for furniture and a method of assembling the furniture are provided which allow easy installment and removal of the segment by an individual. The segment preferably has rib-like side portions which are received into channels formed on the frame. The length of the segment is substantially the same as the distance between the frame members, so that the need for heating, stretching, and cooling of the segment for attachment to the frame is eliminated, and the assembly or disassembly can easily be performed by a single person. That is, one person can easily attach and secure the segment to the frame without special equipment or using fasteners such as screws or rivets. A single, wide segment or a plurality of segments may be used for the furniture, and decorative surfaces and cutouts can be included in the segments to create a stylish look.
